Jesus Understands Your Pain Because

This post is about what Jesus
Christ suffered for you and
for me. All the things that
Jesus endured shows us
that we can trust him to
understand what we are
going through when we
endure pain, rejection,
grief, or trauma in our
lives.
Have you ever been
rejected by family members?

Jesus was rejected by
his
four half-brothers (Mark 6:3)
who had lived with him for
the first 30 years of his life
(Luke 3:23) until He began
his ministry. During his life
his half-brothers did not
believe he was the
Messiah/Saviour of the
world...not until He rose
from the dead. And then
the Bible is not clear if
all of his brothers
believed on Him. Have
you ever been rejected
by a family member?
Jesus understands.

John 7:5
For neither did his
brethren [brothers]
believe in him.

After Jesus was crucified
and rose from the grave,
he was seen alive by more
than 500 witnesses, and
we know that at least two
of his half-brothers, James
and Jude, believed that
Jesus was the Messiah,
the Saviour of the world.
Those two became
gospel preachers in
the Church and each wrote
a book in the New Testament
which is called by their
names: James and Jude.
But his other brothers did
not believe - at least the
Bible does not record that
they did.

Mark 6:4
But Jesus said unto them,
A prophet is not without
honour, but in his own
country, and among his
own kin, and in his
own house.

Have you ever been
rejected by people that you
had known you a long time,
perhaps a relative? Jesus
was rejected by the people
in his home town who had
known him for the 30 years
of his life!

Mark 6:4
But Jesus said unto them,
A prophet is not without
honour, but in his own
country, and among
his own kin, and in his
own house.

Although he was innocent,
Jesus Christ had enemies.
Has that happened to you?
Jesus understands.

Caiaphas, the Jewish high
priest, believed that Jesus
should die for the whole
nation; and so he plotted
with the scribes and
elders of the people
how they might take
Jesus into custody and
kill him.

John 18:14
Now Caiaphas was he,
which gave counsel to
the Jews, that it was
expedient [profitable]
that one man should die
for the people.

Jesus was innocent, and yet
he was hated "without a
cause". Has that happened
to you? Jesus understands.

John 15:25

But this cometh to pass, that
the word might be fulfilled
that is written in their law,
They hated me without
a cause.

Jesus was innocent, and yet
he was falsely accused by
people who were envious
of him. Has that happened
to you? Jesus understands.

Mark
15:9 But Pilate answered
them, saying, Will ye
that I release unto you
the King of the Jews?

15:10 For he knew that
the chief priests had
delivered him [Jesus
Christ] for envy.

Matthew
26:3 Then assembled
together the chief priests,
and the scribes, and the
elders of the people,
unto the palace of the
high priest, who was
called Caiaphas,

26:4 And consulted that
they might take Jesus by
subtilty, and kill him.

Jesus was in agony as he
faced a painful death, but
more painful was the
abandonment by his
Father (God in heaven),
and God the Holy Ghost
while he hung on the
cross for 6 torturous hours
on the cross in order to pay
for the sins of you and me
and the rest of the world
because God could not
look on our sins which
were placed on Jesus
on the cross! That is how
much Jesus loves us!

In the Garden of
Gethsemane Jesus
prayed to God three
different times, asking
his heavenly Father to
make another way to
save the world from sin
other than his separation
from his heavenly Father
when he would be covered
in our sins. But he ended
each prayer by saying
that he would obey God's
will not his own will.
Jesus was in so much
agony as he prayed that
his sweat were as drops
of blood. That is a rare
condition called
Hematidrosis that is
caused by severe
mental anxiety. Have you
ever been mentally in
agony over some situation
you were facing? Jesus
understands.

Luke 22:44

And being in an agony he
prayed more earnestly:
and his sweat was as it
were great drops of blood
falling down to the ground.

Jesus was also troubled in
his spirit because he knew
that his friend, Judas
Iscariot, who had lived
and worked with him
during his three years of
ministry would betray him.
Have you ever been
betrayed by a friend?
Jesus understands.

John 13:21
When Jesus had thus
said, he was troubled in
spirit, and testified, and
said, Verily, verily, I say
unto you, that one of
you shall betray me.

Matthew

26:47 And while he [Jesus]
yet spake, lo, Judas, one
of the twelve, came, and
with him a great multitude
with swords and staves,
from the chief priests and
elders of the people.

26:48 Now he [Judas] that
betrayed him gave them a
sign, saying, Whomsoever
I shall kiss, that same is
he: hold him fast.

26:49 And forthwith he
came to Jesus, and said,
Hail, master; and kissed
him.

26:50 And Jesus said
unto him, Friend,
wherefore art thou
come? Then came they,
and laid hands on Jesus,
and took him.

Jesus also groaned
in his spirit when his
friend Lazarus died
and he saw Mary and
Martha grieving for
their brother.

John
11:32 Then when Mary
[sister to Lazarus] was
come where Jesus was,
and saw him, she fell
down at his feet, saying
unto him, Lord, if thou
hadst been here, my
brother had not died.

11:33 When Jesus
therefore saw her weeping,
and the Jews also
weeping which came
with her, he groaned
in the spirit, and
was troubled,

Jesus was bound (tied up
or chained) when he was
in the Garden of
Gethsemane, and then
bound again when he
was taken to see Pontius
Pilate, the governor.
Have you ever been
arrested and handcuffed,
although you were
innocent? Jesus
understands because
it happened to him.

John 18:12

Then the band and the captain
and officers of the Jews took
Jesus, and bound him,

Mark 15:1

And straightway in the
morning the chief priests
held a consultation with
the elders and scribes and
the whole council, and
bound Jesus, and
carried him away, and
delivered him to Pilate.

The chief priests and the
council found false
witnesses to testify
against Jesus, even
though he was innocent.
Has that ever happened
to you? Jesus
understands.

Mark
14:55 And the chief priests
and all the council sought for
witness against Jesus to
put him to death; and found
none.

14:56 For many bare false
witness against him, but
their witness agreed not
together.

Jesus was abandoned by
his disciples when he was
taken in the Garden of
Gethsemane after Judas
betrayed Him. These
disciples were his friends
who had lived and worked
with him during the three
years of his earthly ministry!
Peter, one of his disciples,
did stay close to where
Jesus was being held after
his being taken to trial, but
then Peter denied knowing
Jesus - three separate
times! Have you ever been
abandoned by those you
love? Jesus understands.

Matthew 26:56

But all this was done, that
the scriptures of the
prophets might be fulfilled.
Then all the disciples
forsook him, and fled.

Luke 22:61

And the Lord turned, and
looked upon Peter. And
Peter remembered the
word of the Lord, how he
had said unto him, Before
the cock crow, thou shalt
deny me thrice.

Jesus was abandoned by
God, his heavenly Father,
while he hung on the cross.
Why? Because God is holy
he could not look at Jesus
when he was covered in our
sins; so God darkened the
sky during those long,
torturous hours as he
hung on the cross.
Have you ever been
abandoned by those you
love the most? Jesus
understands.

Habbakuk 1:13(a)
Thou [God the Father in
heaven] art of purer eyes
than to behold evil, and
canst not look on
iniquity [sin]:

Matthew 27:45

Now from the sixth hour
there was darkness
over all the land unto the
ninth hour.

Mark 15:34

And at the ninth hour Jesus
cried with a loud voice,
saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama
sabachthani? which is,
being interpreted, My God,
my God, why hast thou
forsaken me?

Before being crucified, Jesus
had his back struck by a fist
or a weapon (smiting). He
was beaten with a whip
that had stones or metal
or glass embedded
in it to cause the most
suffering. He also had his
beard plucked off his
cheeks. Imagine how painful
that was. He was also
mocked (made fun of) and
spit upon. His face was hit
so many times that his face
was unrecognizable. If you
have ever been physically
abused, mocked or
disrespected, Jesus
understands.

Isaiah 50:6

I gave my back to the smiters
[those who strike with a fist
or weapon], and my cheeks
to them that plucked off the
hair: I hid not my face from
shame and spitting.

Isaiah 52:14
As many were astonied
[astonished] at thee; his
visage [face] was so
marred more than any
man, and his form more
than the sons of men:

Jesus was forced to wear
a crown of thorns. He was
not only physically abused,
but then he was mocked. If
you have ever been
physically abused or made
fun of, Jesus understands
because he was, too.

Matthew 27:29

And when they had platted
a crown of thorns, they put
it upon his head, and a
reed in his right hand: and
they bowed the knee
before him, and mocked
him, saying, Hail, King
of the Jews!

Jesus was spit upon,
blindfolded and mocked,
and then struck with the
palms of their hands. If you
have ever been physically
hurt and/or ridiculed, Jesus
understands.

Mark 14:65

And some began to spit on
him, and to cover his face,
and to buffet him, and to
say unto him, Prophesy:
and the servants did strike
him with the palms of their
hands.

Jesus was scourged
(beaten with lashes), and
then had his hands and
feet nailed to a cross. Have
you ever been physically
abused very badly? Jesus
understands because he
has also gone through that.

Mark 15:15

And so Pilate, willing to
content the people, released
Barabbas unto them, and
delivered Jesus, when he
had scourged [whipped]
him, and sent him to be
crucified (nailed to the
cross).

Jesus's face was terribly
disfigured because of the
many blows he received.
Have you ever been
physically scarred or
disfigured because of
abuse? Jesus
understands.

Isaiah 52:14

As many were astonied
[astonished] at thee; his
visage [face] was so
marred more than any
man, and his form [body]
more than the sons of men:

King David in the Old
Testament prophesied about
Jesus Christ's crucifixion,
even though death by
crucifixion would not be
invented for hundreds of
years yet. We know that
this prophecy had to come
from God because it
describes the effects of
crucifixion on the body so
well. It was a horrific way
to die! If you have ever
suffered severe physical
abuse, then know that
Jesus understands what
you have been through
because he also suffered
terrible abuse.

Psalm

22:14 I am poured out like
water, and all my bones are
out of joint: my heart is like
wax; it is melted in the
midst of my bowels.

22:15 My strength is dried
up like a potsherd; and
my tongue cleaveth to my
jaws; and thou hast
brought me into the dust
of death.

22:16 For dogs have
compassed me: the
assembly of the wicked
have inclosed me: they
pierced my hands
and my feet.

Have you been verbally
abused? Jesus understands
because he was, too. The
chief priests, scribes, and
elders mocked him; and
then the thieves hanging
on crosses on either side
of Christ, did the same.

Matthew

27:38 Then were there two
thieves crucified with him,
one on the right hand, and
another on the left.

27:39 And they that passed
by reviled him, wagging their
heads,

27:40 And saying, Thou
that destroyest the temple,
and buildest it in three days,
save thyself. If thou be the
Son of God, come down
from the cross.

27:41 Likewise also the
chief priests mocking him,
with the scribes and elders,
said,

27:42 He saved others;
himself he cannot save. If
he be the King of Israel, let
him now come down from
the cross, and we will
believe him.

27:43 He trusted in God; let
him deliver him now, if he
will have him: for he said,
I am the Son of God.

27:44 The thieves also,
which were crucified with
him, cast the same in his
teeth [reproached him in
the same way the chief
priests did].

When Jesus was first
arrested, the men that held
him in custody mocked him
and struck him. Have you
ever been mocked or
physically hit? Jesus
understands because he
has also suffered this
verbal and physical abuse.

Luke

22:63 And the men that held
Jesus mocked him, and
smote [hit] him.

22:64 And when they had
blindfolded him, they
struck him on the face, and
asked him, saying,
Prophesy, who is it that
smote thee?

22:65 And many other
things blasphemously
spake they against him.

The rulers, the soldiers, and
one of the thieves that was
being crucified beside
Jesus Christ, mocked him.

Luke

23:35 And the people stood
beholding. And the rulers
also with them derided him,
saying, He saved others;
let him save himself, if he
be Christ, the chosen of
God.

23:36 And the soldiers also
mocked him, coming to him,
and offering him vinegar,

23:37 And saying, If thou
be the king of the Jews,
save thyself.

23:38 And a superscription
also was written over him
in letters of Greek, and
Latin, and Hebrew, THIS
IS THE KING OF THE
JEWS.

23:39 And one of the
malefactors [criminals who
committed a crime worthy
of capital punishment]
which were hanged railed
on him, saying, If thou be
Christ, save thyself and us.

Have you ever been ridiculed,
though you were innocent?
Jesus understands because
he was, too!

Matthew 27:29

And when they had platted
a crown of thorns, they put it
upon his head, and a reed
in his right hand: and they
bowed the knee before
him, and mocked him,
saying, Hail, King of the
Jews!

Matthew

27:41 Likewise also the chief
priests mocking him, with
the scribes and elders, said,

27:42 He saved others;
himself he cannot save. If
he be the King of Israel,
let him now come down
from the cross, and we will
believe him.

Luke 22:63
And the men that held
Jesus mocked him, and
smote him.

Luke 23:11

And Herod with his men of
war set him at nought, and
mocked him, and arrayed
him in a gorgeous robe,
and sent him again to Pilate.

Luke 23:36

And the soldiers also mocked
him, coming to him, and
offering him vinegar,

And yet after Jesus, the
sinless Son of God, left
the glories of heaven to
come to earth to provide
THE way to save us from
our sins; he was verbally
and physically abused,
criticized, and mocked by
some of the humans that
he came to earth to
save! And, yet, even after
all that abuse; Jesus
Christ still prayed to
God the Father in heaven
to forgive those who had
done those things to him.

Luke 23:34

Then said Jesus, Father,
forgive them; for they know
not what they do. And they
parted his raiment, and cast
lots.

PLEASE NOTE: Jesus is
our example to forgive
others who have hurt us. But
if you are being abused by
someone, get help, speak up.
Go to your preacher, a
trusted family member or a
friend, or some agency that
will give you help to get
away from your abuser.
You can still love that
person and pray for their
salvation, and you can even
forgive them with God's
help. But God would not
want you to stay in a
situation where you are
being hurt physically.
Please, get help now.
That person is a user. I
used to be married to one,
and he was always
sorry afterwards, and then
I would give in and stay;
but there comes a time
when if you are being
physically or even mentally
abused, you need to get
help. Please. God bless
and keep you, dear one.

And please if you have
not yet been saved from
your sins by the Lord
Jesus Christ, you can get
a reservation to go to
heaven so when you
die you will go to
heaven; and when you
accept that gift of
salvation from God you
never need to fear what
comes after death ever
again!

How can I be saved
from my sins and know
that I will go to heaven
when I die? God's Holy
Word, the King James
Bible, tells us how:

How Can I Get To Heaven?

How can I be saved
from my sins and know
that I will go to heaven
when I die? God's Holy
Word, the King James
Bible, tells us how:

Agree with God in
heaven that you are
sinner and need
Saviour. GOD SAYS
WE ARE ALL
SINNERS. But keep
reading because
there is Good News
for you:

Romans 3:23
For all have sinned,
and come short of the
glory of God;

Be willing to turn from
your sin (repent).

Acts 17:30
And the times of this
ignorance God winked
at; but now commandeth
all men every where to
repent:

Believe that Jesus
Christ, the Sinless Son
of God, shed his blood
on the cross to pay
for your sins and
mine, was buried,
and that three
days later He rose
from the dead.

Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess
with thy mouth the Lord
Jesus, and shalt believe
in thine heart that God
hath raised him from
the dead, thou shalt
be saved.

Repent of trusting in
anything or anyone
other than Jesus
Christ (i.e. baptism,
good works, idols,
false gods, $/tithes
man-made church
rules or traditions,
or religious
ceremonies) to
save you.

Titus 3:5
Not by works of
righteousness which we
have done, but according
to his mercy he saved us,
by the washing of
regeneration, and
renewing of the Holy
Ghost;

Jesus said that we do
not get to heaven by our
good works (stuff we
have done). See verses
7:22 and 7:23 below!

Matthew
7:21 Not every one that
saith unto me, Lord,
Lord, shall enter into
the kingdom of heaven;
but he that doeth the
will of my Father which
is in heaven.

7:22 Many will say to
me in that day, Lord,
Lord, have we not
prophesied in thy
name? and in thy
name have cast
out devils? and in
thy name done
many wonderful
works?

7:23 And then will I
profess unto them,
I never knew you:
depart from me, ye
that work iniquity.

Accept God's Free
Gift of eternal life
through his Sinless
Son, the Lord Jesus
Christ. It is a free gift
to you, but it cost Jesus
Christ his life! You do
not have to work to
earn a Gift - It is free!

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is
death; but the gift of
God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ
our Lord.

Ask Jesus Christ to be
your personal Saviour
and Lord of your life.

Romans 10:13
For whosoever shall
call upon the name
of the Lord shall be
saved.

So, if you did that and
sincerely meant it,
then you are now a
Christian! Welcome
to the family.

Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess
with thy mouth the Lord
Jesus, and shalt believe
in thine heart that God
hath raised him from
the dead, thou shalt
be saved.

And when you die, you
will go straight to heaven
to be with Jesus Christ
forever and ever! The
following Bible verse
is one of my favorites.
It gave me comfort when
I went through double
breast cancer surgery
for I knew that if I died
on the operating table
I would immediately be
in heaven with Jesus!
Knowing that is why I
no longer fear what
comes after death.
What freedom there is
in knowing that.

2 Corinthians 5:8
We are confident, I say,
and willing rather to be
absent from the body,
and to be present with
the Lord.

One note to all dear
Catholics: The Catholic
church says that it is
wrong to believe that
you can know you are
saved before you die.
Please think about
this: God is a God of
love. After all he sent
his Son to die for your
sins so you could be
with him in heaven for
eternity! That is love!
Why would a God of love
want you to worry all of
your life whether you will
go to heaven or hell when
you die? God in heaven
wants us to have peace
and joy in this life as we
live for him and draw
others to him as their
Saviour. Only a cruel
God would want us
worried and stressed
about what comes after
death. But GOD LOVES
YOU and wants you to
have peace knowing that
you are saved now and
can know now that you
are going to heaven when
you die! Please trust your
loving heavenly Father's
Holy Word (the King James
Bible) when God tells you
that you will be with Him
after death if you trusted
Jesus Christ as your
Saviour!

And now that you have
become a Christian, it
is important to learn how
to live a life that glorifies
God in heaven who gave
you the Gift of salvation.
