Jesus Christ's Agony At Being Abandoned By God For Our Sins

I need to keep the
following Bible verses
always in my mind so
that I never forget the
great sacrifice Jesus
Christ made for me
(and you). Jesus Christ,
the Son of God, was
innocent (sinless)
who died for me and
you (sinners), so that
we could choose to
accept or reject his
death and
resurrection as payment
for our sins and go to
heaven when we die.

At the bottom of this
post is the good news
of how to know you
are going to heaven
when you die. God is
loving and wanted
you to know now
where you will go
when you die so you
never have to worry
about what comes
after death again!
What freedom and
peace there is in
knowing that so I
hope you read all of
this Bible study.

Matthew
26:36 Then cometh Jesus
with them unto a place
called Gethsemane, and
saith unto the disciples,
Sit ye here, while I go
and pray yonder.

26:37 And he took with him
Peter and the two sons of
Zebedee, and began to
be sorrowful and very heavy.

26:38 Then saith he unto
them, My soul is exceeding
sorrowful, even unto death:
tarry ye here, and watch
with me.

26:39 And he went a little
further, and fell on his
face, and prayed, saying,
O my Father, if it be
possible, let this cup
pass from me:
nevertheless not as
I will, but as thou wilt.

26:40 And he cometh
unto the disciples, and
findeth them asleep,
and saith unto Peter,
What, could ye not
with me one hour?

26:41 Watch and pray,
that ye enter not into
temptation: the spirit
indeed is willing, but
the flesh is weak.

26:42 He went away
again the second time,
and prayed, saying,
my Father, if this cup
may not pass away
from me, except I drink
it, thy will be done.

26:43  And he came
and found them asleep
again: for their eyes
were heavy.

26:44 And he left them,
and went away again,
and prayed the third
time, saying the same
words.

26:45 Then cometh he to
his disciples, and saith
unto them, Sleep on
now, and take your rest:
behold, the hour is at
hand, and the Son of
man [a title he called
himself] is betrayed into
the hands of sinners.

26:46 Rise, let us be
going: behold, he is at
hand that doth betray me.

Luke 22:44

And being in an
agony he prayed
more earnestly: and
his sweat was as it
were great drops of
blood falling down
to the ground.

Luke, the writer of this
gospel, was a physician,
and is the only gospel
writer to tell about Jesus'
sweat being like drops
of blood. I looked this
up online, and sweating
blood is a rare condition
called Hematidrosis
caused by extreme
anguish (extreme pain
or grief). Also, remember
that Jesus Christ would
have known in advance
every excruciating moment
of the pain and suffering
and separation from God
the Father and God the
Holy Spirit that He (Jesus)
was going to endure
as the substitute for
your sins and my sins.

Jesus Christ also knew
beforehand that he
would be flogged almost
to death (beaten with a
whip that had pieces of
metal or bone in it that
would cut the skin to
pieces) and also that
crucifixion (being
nailed to a cross) was
the most painful type
of death possible.

Jesus Christ also knew
that he would be
betrayed by a 'friend'
(Judas Iscariot) who
had lived and worked
with him for the three
years of His ministry.

Jesus would also suffer
being mocked as he
hung there on the
cross - dying for the
people who mocked
Him - the people that
he had created!

And to add to all that
agony, as He was
hanging on the cross,
God darkened the sky
for three hours after
our sins were poured
out on Jesus Christ
because God the
Father in heaven
could not look on his
Sinless Son, Jesus
Christ, because
Jesus was covered
with my sins and
yours!

Jesus is part of the
Godhead (God the Father,
God the Son, and God the
Holy Ghost). Imagine
how horrible that must
have been for Jesus Christ
to be separated from his
heavenly God the Father
and God the Holy Ghost
for sins that he did not
commit! Listen to Jesus
Christ's cry to his Father
in heaven as he was
dying:

Mark 15:34
And the ninth hour Jesus
cried with a loud voice,
saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama
sabachthani? which is,
being interpreted, My
God, my God, why
hast thou forsaken
me?

I think that we have heard
about the crucifixion so
often that we have
forgotten just how
excruciating this separation
from the God the Father
in heaven was going to
be for Jesus Christ!

We are the reason
Jesus was tortured
almost to death, nailed
to a cross, died and
was resurrected from
the dead! If we had not
been sinners, he
would have had no
reason to die! Let us
remember to thank him
daily for his great gift of
salvation!

Ephesians
2:8 For by grace are y
saved through faith;
and that not of
yourselves: it is the
gift of God:

2:9 Not of works
lest any man should
boast.

And now here is the
good news of how to
be saved from your
sins and go to heaven
when you die.

How Can I Get To Heaven?

How can I be saved
from my sins and know
that I will go to heaven
when I die? God's Holy
Word, the King James
Bible, tells us how:

Agree with God in
heaven that you are
sinner and need
Saviour. GOD SAYS
WE ARE ALL
SINNERS. But keep
reading because
there is Good News
for you:

Romans 3:23
For all have sinned,
and come short of the
glory of God;

Be willing to turn from
your sin (repent).

Acts 17:30
And the times of this
ignorance God winked
at; but now commandeth
all men every where to
repent:

Believe that Jesus
Christ, the Sinless Son
of God, shed his blood
on the cross to pay
for your sins and
mine, was buried,
and that three
days later He rose
from the dead.

Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess
with thy mouth the Lord
Jesus, and shalt believe
in thine heart that God
hath raised him from
the dead, thou shalt
be saved.

Repent of trusting in
anything or anyone
other than Jesus
Christ (i.e. baptism,
good works, idols,
false gods, $/tithes
man-made church
rules or traditions,
or religious
ceremonies) to
save you.

Titus 3:5
Not by works of
righteousness which we
have done, but according
to his mercy he saved us,
by the washing of
regeneration, and
renewing of the Holy
Ghost;

Jesus said that we do
not get to heaven by our
good works (stuff we
have done). See verses
7:22 and 7:23 below!

Matthew
7:21 Not every one that
saith unto me, Lord,
Lord, shall enter into
the kingdom of heaven;
but he that doeth the
will of my Father which
is in heaven.

7:22 Many will say to
me in that day, Lord,
Lord, have we not
prophesied in thy
name? and in thy
name have cast
out devils? and in
thy name done
many wonderful
works?

7:23 And then will I
profess unto them,
I never knew you:
depart from me, ye
that work iniquity.

Accept God's Free
Gift of eternal life
through his Sinless
Son, the Lord Jesus
Christ. It is a free gift
to you, but it cost Jesus
Christ his life! You do
not have to work to
earn a Gift - It is free!

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is
death; but the gift of
God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ
our Lord.

Ask Jesus Christ to be
your personal Saviour
and Lord of your life.

Romans 10:13
For whosoever shall
call upon the name
of the Lord shall be
saved.

So, if you did that and
sincerely meant it,
then you are now a
Christian! Welcome
to the family.

Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess
with thy mouth the Lord
Jesus, and shalt believe
in thine heart that God
hath raised him from
the dead, thou shalt
be saved.

And when you die, you
will go straight to heaven
to be with Jesus Christ
forever and ever! The
following Bible verse
is one of my favorites.
It gave me comfort when
I went through double
breast cancer surgery
for I knew that if I died
on the operating table
I would immediately be
in heaven with Jesus!
Knowing that is why I
no longer fear what
comes after death.
What freedom there is
in knowing that.

2 Corinthians 5:8
We are confident, I say,
and willing rather to be
absent from the body,
and to be present with
the Lord.

One note to all dear
Catholics: The Catholic
church says that it is
wrong to believe that
you can know you are
saved before you die.
Please think about
this: God is a God of
love. After all he sent
his Son to die for your
sins so you could be
with him in heaven for
eternity! That is love!
Why would a God of love
want you to worry all of
your life whether you will
go to heaven or hell when
you die? God in heaven
wants us to have peace
and joy in this life as we
live for him and draw
others to him as their
Saviour. Only a cruel
God would want us
worried and stressed
about what comes after
death. But GOD LOVES
YOU and wants you to
have peace knowing that
you are saved now and
can know now that you
are going to heaven when
you die! Please trust your
loving heavenly Father's
Holy Word (the King James
Bible) when God tells you
that you will be with Him
after death if you trusted
Jesus Christ as your
Saviour!

And now that you have
become a Christian, it
is important to learn how
to live a life that glorifies
God in heaven who gave
you the Gift of salvation.
