What Will Heaven Be Like?

Heaven, not earth, is the
real home for those who
know Jesus Christ as
their Saviour. We are just
pilgrims here on earth for a
very short time. At the
bottom of this post I tell
you how to get to heaven
in case you want to know.

Words in bold in Scripture
verses are for emphasis.

Hebrews 11:13
These all died in faith, not
having received the
promises, but having seen them
afar off, and were persuaded
of them, and embraced them,
and confessed that they were
strangers and pilgrims on
the earth.

When Adam and Eve sinned
(disobeyed God), God cursed
the earth with thistles, thorns,
weeds, bugs, mold, decay,
natural disasters, diseases,
illnesses, and death, etc.
God says that in the new
heavens and the new earth
there will be no more curse.

Revelation 22:3

And there shall be no more
curse: but the throne of God
and of the Lamb shall be in
it; and his servants shall
serve him:

In heaven there will be no
night time! And we will not
need the sun for light
because God will give us
His Light!

Revelation 22:5

And there shall be no night
there; and they need no
candle, neither light of the
sun; for the Lord God
giveth them light: and they
shall reign for ever and ever.

In the new earth there will be
no islands, nor any mountains.
Right now the earth has lots
of mountains and islands.
Without those things taking
up space on the earth,
there will be much more
room to house every
believer who has ever lived!

Revelation 21:1

And I saw a new heaven
and a new earth: for the first
heaven and the first earth
were passed away; and
there was no more sea.

Revelation 16:20

And every island fled away,
and the mountains were
not found.

In the new earth there will be
no more sea. Seas cover
about 70% or more of our
planet. Once there are no
more seas, there will be
more land for the
mansions that Jesus
is building for every
believer who ever lived!

John 14:2
In my Father's house are
many mansions: if it were
not so, I would have told
you. I go to prepare a
place for you.

Revelation 21:1
And I saw a new heaven and
a new earth: for the first
heaven and the first earth
were passed away; and
there was no more sea.

In the new heaven there shall
be no more death, sorrow,
crying, or pain!

Revelation 21:4

And God shall wipe away
all tears from their eyes;
and there shall be no
more death, neither sorrow,
nor crying, neither shall
there be any more pain:
for the former things are
passed away.

And God shall wipe away
all of our tears!

Revelation 7:17

For the Lamb which is in
the midst of the throne
shall feed them, and
shall lead them unto
living fountains of waters:
and God shall wipe
away all tears from
their eyes.

Perhaps there will be no
more crying in the new
earth because God says
we will not remember our
life on this old earth
where things happened to
us that made us cry.

Isaiah 65:17

For, behold, I create new
heavens and a new
earth: and the former
shall not be
remembered, nor
come into mind.

Jesus told his disciples (that
includes all of us believers)
that He was going back to
heaven to prepare a
mansion for us to live in
when we get to heaven!

John

14:2 In my Father's house
are many mansions: if it
were not so, I would have
told you. I go to prepare a
place for you.

14:3 And if I go and prepare
a place for you, I will come
again, and receive you
unto myself; that where
I am, there ye may be also.

God will give us new, glorious
bodies fit for heaven, a
body like Jesus had after
he was raised from the dead.

Philippians

3:20 For our conversation is
in heaven; from whence
also we look for the Saviour,
the Lord Jesus Christ:

3:21 Who shall change our
vile body, that it may be
fashioned like unto his
glorious body, according
to the working whereby he
is able even to subdue all
things unto himself.

After his resurrection from
the dead, Jesus showed
his disciples that he was
not a ghost, but that he
had a physical body. That
means when we are
raised from the dead to
go to heaven, we will
have a physical body,
too. We will not be
ghosts!

Luke

24:36 And as they thus
spake, Jesus himself stood
in the midst of them, and
saith unto them, Peace
be unto you.

24:37 But they were terrified
and affrighted, and
supposed that they had
seen a spirit.

24:38 And he said unto
them, Why are ye troubled?
and why do thoughts arise
in your hearts?

24:39 Behold my hands and
my feet, that it is I myself:
handle me, and see; for
a spirit hath not flesh
and bones, as ye see
me have.

In heaven there will be a pure
river of "water of life".

Revelation 22:1

And he shewed me a
pure river of water of
life, clear as crystal,
proceeding out of the
throne of God and of the Lamb.

In heaven there will be the
"tree of life" which will bear
all types of fruits which
means that we will eat
food in heaven. We will
have to have a physical
body in order to eat food.
Ghosts do not eat food.
I repeat that we will not be
ghosts because I have
heard that many people
think we will just be ghosts
floating around heaven.
Not according to God's
Holy Word, the King
James Bible.

Revelation 22:2

In the midst of the street of it,
and on either side of the river,
was there the tree of life,
which bare twelve
manner of fruits, and
yielded her fruit every
month: and the leaves
of the tree were for the
healing of the nations.

We will serve God when we
get to heaven. We will have
things to do for God. We
will not be sitting on
clouds playing harps or
sitting in endless church
services, as some have
supposed. We will have
the privilege of being able
to serve God as thanks to
Him for his amazing grace
(his unearned favor) through
the sacrifice of his precious,
Sinless Son, Jesus Christ,
who died for our sins
and rose from the grave
so that we who repented of
our sins and put our trust
in Jesus Christ alone could
spend eternity in heaven
with him!

Revelation 22:3

And there shall be no more
curse: but the throne of God
and of the Lamb shall be
in it; and his servants
shall serve him:

And we shall get to see His face!

Revelation

22:3 And there shall be no
more curse: but the throne
of God and of the Lamb
shall be in it; and his
servants shall serve him:

22:4 And they shall see
his face; and his name
shall be in their foreheads.

God says our human minds
cannot even begin to
imagine all that He has
prepared for us (in heaven)
for those of us who love him!

1 Corinthians 2:9

But as it is written, Eye hath
not seen, nor ear heard,
neither have entered into
the heart of man, the
things which God hath
prepared for them that
love him.

When we get to heaven God
says that we will "know even
as also I am known". I think
that means that we may get
answers to the many
questions we have now.
And, in addition to that
awesome news, we will
get to know God more
deeply just as he knows
us. Wow! I cannot wait!

1 Corinthians 13:12

For now we see through a
glass, darkly; but then face
to face: now I know in part;
but then shall I know even
as also I am known.

Another proof that we will
have physical bodies in
heaven and not ghostly
ones is that when Jesus
appeared to his disciples
after he was resurrected
from the dead, he ate food!

Luke

24:42 And they gave him
[Jesus Christ] a piece of a
broiled fish, and of an
honeycomb.
24:43 And he took it, and
did eat before them.

Jesus told 'doubting Thomas'
to touch the wounds he (Jesus)
received when he had died
on the cross to prove to
Thomas (and to us) that
Jesus did have a physical
body after he had been
raised from the dead.

John
20:27 Then saith he to Thomas,
Reach hither thy finger, and
behold my hands; and
reach hither thy hand,
and thrust it into my
side: and be not
faithless, but believing.

In heaven there is "the tree
of life" with different kinds of
fruits on it, so we must have
physical bodies in heaven
not ghostly bodies in order
to be able to eat. Just like
Jesus had.

Revelation 22:2
In the midst of the street of it,
and on either side of the river,
was there the tree of life,
which bare twelve manner
of fruits, and yielded her
fruit every month: and
the leaves of the tree
were for the healing of
the nations.

And if you have not done
so, and would like to be
saved from your sins and
know for sure you will go
to heaven when you die,
God's Holy Word, the
King James Bible, tells
us how.

Agree with God in
heaven that you are
sinner and need
Saviour. GOD SAYS
WE ARE ALL
SINNERS. But keep
reading because
there is Good News
for you:

Romans 3:23
For all have sinned,
and come short of the
glory of God;

Believe that Jesus
Christ, the Sinless Son
of God, shed his blood
on the cross to pay
for your sins (and
mine). Three days later
He rose from the dead.

Romans 5:8
But God commendeth
his love toward us, in
that, while we were
yet sinners, Christ
died for us.

Repent of trusting in
anything or anyone
other than Jesus
Christ (i.e. baptism,
good works, money/tithes
man-made church rules
or traditions, or religious
ceremonies) to save you.

Titus 3:5
Not by works of
righteousness which we
have done, but according
to his mercy he saved us,
by the washing of
regeneration, and
renewing of the Holy
Ghost;

Jesus said that we do
not get to heaven by our
good works (stuff we
have done). See verses
7:22 and 7:23 below!

Matthew
7:21 Not every one that
saith unto me, Lord,
Lord, shall enter into
the kingdom of heaven;
but he that doeth the
will of my Father which
is in heaven.

7:22 Many will say to
me in that day, Lord,
Lord, have we not
prophesied in thy
name? and in thy
name have cast
out devils? and in
thy name done
many wonderful
works?

7:23 And then will I
profess unto them,
I never knew you:
depart from me, ye
that work iniquity.

Accept God's Free
Gift of eternal life
through his Sinless
Son, the Lord Jesus
Christ. It is a free gift
to you, but it cost Jesus
Christ his life! You do
not have to work to
earn a Gift - It is free!

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is
death; but the gift of
God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ
our Lord.

God tells us that as
many as received
Jesus Christ as their
Saviour and believed
on his name (trusted
him as Saviour), he
gave them power to
become the sons
(and daughters) of
God the Father in
heaven!

John 1:12
But as many as received
him [trusted Jesus], to
them gave he power to
become the sons of God,
even to them that
believe on his name.

So, if you confessed to
God in heaven that you
are a sinner in need of
a Saviour, and you
believe that Jesus Christ
died for your sins and
that God raised him
from the dead, then
you shall be saved.

Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess
with thy mouth the Lord
Jesus, and shalt believe
in thine heart that God
hath raised him from
the dead, thou shalt
be saved.

And when you die, you
will go straight to heaven
to be with Jesus Christ
forever and ever! The
following Bible verse
is one of my favorites.
It gave me comfort when
I went through double
breast cancer surgery
for I knew that if I died
on the operating table
I would immediately be
in heaven with Jesus!
Knowing that is why I
no longer fear what
comes after death.
What freedom there is
in knowing that.

2 Corinthians 5:8
We are confident, I say,
and willing rather to be
absent from the body,
and to be present with
the Lord.

One note to all dear
Catholics: The Catholic
church says that it is
wrong to believe that
you can know you are
saved before you die.
Please think about
this: God is a God of
love. After all he sent
his Son to die for your
sins so you could be
with him in heaven for
eternity! That is love!
Why would a God of love
want you to worry all of
your life whether you will
go to heaven or hell when
you die? God in heaven
wants us to have peace
and joy in this life as we
live for him and draw
others to him as their
Saviour. Only a cruel
God would want us
worried and stressed
about what comes after
death. But GOD LOVES
YOU and wants you to
have peace knowing that
you are saved now and
can know now that you
are going to heaven when
you die! Please trust your
loving heavenly Father's
Holy Word (the King
James Bible) when God
tells you that you will be
with Him after death if
you trusted Jesus Christ
as your Saviour!

And now that you have
become a Christian, it
is important to learn how
to live a life that glorifies
God in heaven who gave
you the Gift of salvation.
