Jesus Christ on Anger

Anger is really the
refusal to forgive
someone for some hurt
they have caused you.
Listen to what Jesus
Christ, the Son of God,
says about anger
(unforgiveness)
in this Bible study.
Imagine yourself in the
place of Jesus, and how
you would feel towards
those who tortured you,
and yet listen to how
Jesus responded to
those who nailed him
to a wooden cross after
beating him with a whip
that had sharp nails or
glass embedded in it.

Jesus was first falsely
accused by the religious
leaders of his day, was
sentenced to death by
crucifixion when he did
nothing wrong, was
mocked by the soldiers
and the religious leaders
and by the criminals that
were on crosses
beside him, was hit
in the face so
many times he was
almost unrecognizable,
was spit upon, was
cruelly beaten with a
whip that had bone or
nails embedded in it,
had hair from his
beard ripped out,
had a crown of
thorns placed on his
head and a robe
placed on him to
mock him as a king,
his disciples who had
lived and worked
with him for the three
years of his ministry
deserted him on the
night of his arrest,
he was undressed
before being hung
on the cross to
humiliate him, and
had his wrists (not
hands) and feet
nailed to a cross
where he hung
for six long hours,
slowing dying a torturous
death - and all for our
sins when he himself
was sinless. God's
Holy Word (KJB) says
that after all that Jesus
was unrecognizable
because his face was
so damaged. And yet
here is what Jesus
said about those
who were
crucifying him...

Luke 23:34
Then said Jesus,
Father [God in
heaven], forgive them;
for they know not
what they do.

Jesus had a lot to
say about us
forgiving our
enemies.

Matthew
5:43 Ye have heard that
it hath been said, Thou
shalt love thy neighbour,
and hate thine enemy.

5:44 But I say unto you,
Love your enemies, bless
them that curse you, do
good to them that hate
you, and pray for them
which despitefully use
you, and persecute you;

5:45 That ye may be
the children of your
Father which is in
heaven: for he maketh
his sun to rise on the
evil and on the good,
and sendeth rain on
the just and on the
unjust.

Did you get that?
Jesus is instructing
us to:

*Love our enemies

*Bless our enemies

*Do good to our
enemies (that means
do nice stuff for them)

*Pray for our enemies

Why? Because if we
have truly trusted
Jesus Christ as our
personal Saviour
and Lord of our life,
then we need to obey
his command and
follow God's example
because God is
above all merciful.

Jesus also said...

Luke

6:27 But I say unto
you which hear, Love
your enemies, do
good to them which
hate you,

6:28 Bless them
that curse you,
and pray for them
which despitefully
use you.

Dear sister or brother
in Christ, I know from
experience about
holding grudges
and what it does
to your health. If
you continue to
hold a grudge
toward someone
who has done
you wrong, then
you are in bondage
to that person until
you let go of your
anger, hatred, or
bitterness towards
them! Why do I
say that? From
experience I have
learned that I was
the one who was
suffering - stressing
myself out by
constantly reliving
what my 'enemy'
did to me. Those
strong emotions of
anger and bitterness
stressed me out,
caused migraines,
and eventually the
stress took its toll
on my physical
health. And I have
heard that long-
term stress can
lead to serious
health problems.

Romans 12:19
Dearly beloved,
avenge not yourselves,
but rather give place
unto wrath: for it is
written, Vengeance
is mine; I will repay,
saith the Lord.

Also, Jesus gives
us this warning
several times (to
make sure we are
'listening': If I do
not forgive others,
God will not
forgive me! Ouch!

Matthew

6:14 For if you forgive
men their trespasses,
your heavenly Father
will also forgive you:

6:15 But if you
forgive not men
their trespasses
[sins against you],
neither will your
[heavenly] Father
forgive your
trespasses [sins].

Mark 11:25
Whenever you stand
praying, if you have
anything against
anyone, forgive him,
that your Father in
heaven may also
forgive your
trespasses [sins].

Luke 6:37
Judge not, and
ye shall not be judged:
condemn not, and ye
shall not be condemned:
forgive and ye shall
be forgiven.

Forgiveness of others
in obedience to Jesus
Christ and with the
help of the Holy Spirit
who lives inside of every
follower of Jesus Christ
will set you free from the
bondage of the sin
of unforgiveness toward
that person!

Want to be set free
today? Forgive that
person who hurt you
and free yourself from the
bondage to that person
and the bad stuff they
did to you. Ask Jesus
for help with forgiving
them. You may have
to ask Him daily for
help until you are able
finally to forgive them.
What freedom there is
in not wanting to re-live
all the bad stuff that
person did to you/me.
God said he would
take care of those
people who have
hurt you.

Romans 14:10
But why dost thou
judge thy brother?
or why dost thou
set at nought thy
brother? for we
shall all stand
before the judgment
seat of Christ.

Romans 12:19
Dearly beloved, avenge
not yourselves, but
rather give place unto
wrath: for it is written,
Vengeance is mine;
I will repay, saith
the Lord.

After having said that,
if you are being abused
by someone, it is good
to forgive them, but
please do not stay in
an abusive situation.
Seek help from a
pastor, a friend, or find
a shelter where you
can be safe.

Back to 'anger' the
subject of this post:
After you forgive
your 'enemies' as
Jesus Christ told
us to do, then pray
that God softens
their heart to turn them
toward Jesus Christ as
their Saviour; and
then just leave it
up to God in heaven
to take care of that
person! We all will
face God at the
judgment.

Hebrews 9:27
And as it is
appointed unto
men once to die,
but after this the
judgment:

And if anyone
reading this does
not yet know Jesus
Christ as their
personal Saviour,
and does not know
how to get to heaven
when you die, here
is how from God's
Holy Word, the King
James Bible:

How Can I Get To Heaven?

How can I be saved
from my sins and know
that I will go to heaven
when I die? God's Holy
Word, the King James
Bible, tells us how:

Agree with God in
heaven that you are
sinner and need
Saviour. GOD SAYS
WE ARE ALL
SINNERS. But keep
reading because
there is Good News
for you:

Romans 3:23
For all have sinned,
and come short of the
glory of God;

Be willing to turn from
your sin (repent).

Acts 17:30
And the times of this
ignorance God winked
at; but now commandeth
all men every where to
repent:

Believe that Jesus
Christ, the Sinless Son
of God, shed his blood
on the cross to pay
for your sins and
mine, was buried,
and that three
days later He rose
from the dead.

Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess
with thy mouth the Lord
Jesus, and shalt believe
in thine heart that God
hath raised him from
the dead, thou shalt
be saved.

Repent of trusting in
anything or anyone
other than Jesus
Christ (i.e. baptism,
good works, idols,
false gods, $/tithes
man-made church
rules or traditions,
or religious
ceremonies) to
save you.

Titus 3:5
Not by works of
righteousness which we
have done, but according
to his mercy he saved us,
by the washing of
regeneration, and
renewing of the Holy
Ghost;

Jesus said that we do
not get to heaven by our
good works (stuff we
have done). See verses
7:22 and 7:23 below!

Matthew
7:21 Not every one that
saith unto me, Lord,
Lord, shall enter into
the kingdom of heaven;
but he that doeth the
will of my Father which
is in heaven.

7:22 Many will say to
me in that day, Lord,
Lord, have we not
prophesied in thy
name? and in thy
name have cast
out devils? and in
thy name done
many wonderful
works?

7:23 And then will I
profess unto them,
I never knew you:
depart from me, ye
that work iniquity.

Accept God's Free
Gift of eternal life
through his Sinless
Son, the Lord Jesus
Christ. It is a free gift
to you, but it cost Jesus
Christ his life! You do
not have to work to
earn a Gift - It is free!

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is
death; but the gift of
God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ
our Lord.

Ask Jesus Christ to be
your personal Saviour
and Lord of your life.

Romans 10:13
For whosoever shall
call upon the name
of the Lord shall be
saved.

So, if you did that and
sincerely meant it,
then you are now a
Christian! Welcome
to the family.

Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess
with thy mouth the Lord
Jesus, and shalt believe
in thine heart that God
hath raised him from
the dead, thou shalt
be saved.

And when you die, you
will go straight to heaven
to be with Jesus Christ
forever and ever! The
following Bible verse
is one of my favorites.
It gave me comfort when
I went through double
breast cancer surgery
for I knew that if I died
on the operating table
I would immediately be
in heaven with Jesus!
Knowing that is why I
no longer fear what
comes after death.
What freedom there is
in knowing that.

2 Corinthians 5:8
We are confident, I say,
and willing rather to be
absent from the body,
and to be present with
the Lord.

One note to all dear
Catholics: The Catholic
church says that it is
wrong to believe that
you can know you are
saved before you die.
Please think about
this: God is a God of
love. After all he sent
his Son to die for your
sins so you could be
with him in heaven for
eternity! That is love!
Why would a God of love
want you to worry all of
your life whether you will
go to heaven or hell when
you die? God in heaven
wants us to have peace
and joy in this life as we
live for him and draw
others to him as their
Saviour. Only a cruel
God would want us
worried and stressed
about what comes after
death. But GOD LOVES
YOU and wants you to
have peace knowing that
you are saved now and
can know now that you
are going to heaven when
you die! Please trust your
loving heavenly Father's
Holy Word (the King James
Bible) when God tells you
that you will be with Him
after death if you trusted
Jesus Christ as your
Saviour!

And now that you have
become a Christian, it
is important to learn how
to live a life that glorifies
God in heaven who gave
you the Gift of salvation.
