God Hates The Occult

God gave the land of Israel to
the Jews forever. Then He
told them when they came
into the land that they were
not to learn from the
"abominations" that those
nations did. Abominations
are things that are hateful
to God.

for the rest of this
informative Bible study.

God did not want the Israelites
(the Jews) depending on the
occult practices of these
pagan nations to 'tell them
the future'. God, our
heavenly Father, wanted
them to trust and depend
on Him teach them about
what He had in store for
them in the future! And He
did that in his holy word,
the King James Bible.

Deuteronomy

18:9 When thou art come into
the land which the LORD thy
God giveth thee, thou shalt
not learn to do after the
abominations of those
nations.

18:10 There shall not be
found among you any one
that maketh his son or his
daughter to pass through
the fire, or that useth
divination, or an observer
of times, or an enchanter,
or a witch,

18:11 Or a charmer, or a
consulter with familiar
spirits, or a wizard, or a
necromancer.

These are all
"abominations",
things God hates:

Divination - A 'diviner' is a
fortune teller.

Observer of Times
Astrologers - someone
who predicts the future
by the position of the
stars and planets, etc..

Enchanters - Enchanters
are sorcerers or
magicians; one who
perform incantations or
spells.

Charmer - One who uses
the power of enchantment.
Enchanters are sorcerers
or magicians.

Consulter with familiar
spirits - A 'familiar spirit'
is actually a demon
summoned up by a
'medium' with the intention
that the 'familiar spirit'
would obey his or her
commands. From what I
have read online
sometimes people think
'familiar spirits' are the
spirits of people who had
died, but according to
the Bible that is not the
case.

Hebrews 9:27 says:
And as it is appointed
unto men once to die,
but after this the
judgment:

"Wizard" - Someone who is
a conjurer, an enchanter, or
a sorcerer.

"Necromancer" - A
person who pretends to
communicate with the
dead in order to reveal
future events.

Only God Almighty in heaven
can predict the future! That
is because He knows the
past, present, and future!
When God gave to the
prophets in the Old
Testament prophecies of
things to come to share
with people, those
prophecies came true
with 100% accuracy. In
Bible times if a prophet
predicted something that
he said God told him
would come to pass and
it did not, that prophet
was put to death!

Isaiah
46:9 Remember the
former things of old: for
I am God, and there is
none else; I am God,
and there is none like me,

46:10 Declaring the end
from the beginning, and
from ancient times the
things that are not yet
done, saying, My counsel
shall stand, and I will do
all my pleasure:

Deuteronomy 18:20
But the prophet, which
shall presume to speak
a word in my name,
which I have not
commanded him to
speak, or that shall
speak in the name
of other gods, even
that prophet shall die.

Pass through the Fire -
Sacrificing their children
to burn to death to
appease a pagan nation's
false gods.

Sacrificing children
through fire has been
replaced in this day and
age by sacrificing unborn
children to abortion; and
all because self-centered,
sexually active people find
it inconvenient to be
pregnant!
