Who In The Bible Says Jesus Is The Son Of God

Words in Bold in the
Bible verses are for
emphasis.

Many individuals, groups
of individuals, and even
devils (evil spirits),
testified that Jesus
Christ was the Son of
God. Here are those
who declared Jesus
to be the Son of God:

God the Father in
heaven declared
Jesus Christ to be His
beloved Son (the Son
of God)!

Matthew

3:16 And Jesus, when he
was baptized, went up
straightway out of the
water: and, lo, the
heavens were opened
unto him, and he saw
the Spirit of God
descending like a dove,
and lighting upon him:

3:17 And lo a voice from
heaven, saying, This is
my beloved Son, in
whom I am well pleased.

The devils who were inside
two men in the country of
the Gergesenes declared
Jesus Christ to be the
Son of God.

Matthew
8:28 And when he was
come to the other side into
the country of the
Gergesenes, there
met him two possessed
with devils, coming
out of the tombs,
exceeding fierce, so
that no man might
pass by that way.

8:29 And, behold, they
cried out, saying, What
have we to do with thee,
Jesus, thou Son of
God? art thou come
hither to torment us
before the time?

When Jesus walked on
water, and then calmed
the wind and the waves,
his disciples worshiped
him and declared Him
to be the Son of God.

Matthew

14:24 But the ship was now
in the midst of the sea,
tossed with waves: for
the wind was contrary.

14:25 And in the fourth
watch of the night Jesus
went unto them,
walking on the sea.

14:26 And when the disciples
saw him walking on the sea,
they were troubled, saying,
It is a spirit; and they cried
out for fear.

14:27 But straightway
Jesus spake unto them,
saying, Be of good cheer;
it is I; be not afraid.

14:28 And Peter answered
him and said, Lord, if it be
thou, bid me come unto
thee on the water.

14:29 And he said, Come.
And when Peter was come
down out of the ship, he
walked on the water, to
go to Jesus.

14:30 But when he saw the
wind boisterous, he was
afraid; and beginning to
sink, he cried, saying,
Lord, save me.

14:31 And immediately
Jesus stretched forth his
hand, and caught him,
and said unto him, O
thou of little faith,
wherefore didst thou
doubt?

14:32 And when they were
come into the ship, the
wind ceased.

14:33 Then they that were
in the ship came and
worshipped him*, saying,
Of a truth thou art the
Son of God. [*Jesus]

The centurion (Roman
soldier) and they that
were with him were on
duty while Jesus was
hanging on the cross
dying, and they said
that Jesus was the
Son of God.

Matthew 27:54
Now when the centurion,
and they that were with
him, watching Jesus,
saw the earthquake, and
those things that were
done, they feared greatly,
saying, Truly this was
the Son of God.

Mark, one of Jesus Christ's
original twelve disciples,
began his gospel of Mark
declaring that Jesus Christ
is the Son of God.

Mark 1:1
The beginning of the
gospel of Jesus Christ,
the Son of God;

Unclean spirits, when they
saw him, fell down before
him, and declared him to
be the Son of God.

Mark
3:7 But Jesus withdrew
himself with his disciples
to the sea: and a great
multitude from Galilee
followed him, and from
Judaea,

3:8 And from Jerusalem,
and from Idumaea, and
from beyond Jordan; and
they about Tyre and
Sidon, a great multitude,
when they had heard
what great things he
did, came unto him.

3:9 And he spake to his
disciples, that a small
ship should wait on
him because of the
multitude, lest they
should throng him.

3:10 For he had healed
many; insomuch that
they pressed upon him
for to touch him, as
many as had plagues.

3:11 And unclean spirits,
when they saw him, fell
down before him, and
cried, saying, Thou art
the Son of God.

The unclean spirit (devil) that
was inside the man living
among the tombs declared
Jesus to be the Son of the
most high God.

Mark
5:1 And they came over unto
the other side of the sea,
into the country of the
Gadarenes.

5:2 And when he was come
out of the ship, immediately
there met him out of the
tombs a man with an
unclean spirit,

5:3 Who had his dwelling
among the tombs; and no
man could bind him, no,
not with chains:

5:4 Because that he had
been often bound with
fetters and chains, and
the chains had been
plucked asunder by him,
and the fetters broken in
pieces: neither could any
man tame him.

5:5 And always, night and
day, he was in the
mountains, and in the
tombs, crying, and cutting
himself with stones.

5:6 But when he saw
Jesus afar off, he ran and
worshipped him,

5:7 And cried with a loud
voice, and said, What have
I to do with thee, Jesus,
thou Son of the most
high God? I adjure thee
by God, that thou
torment me not.

The angel who announced to
Mary that she would become
pregnant when the Holy
Ghost came upon her, told
her that the child she will
give birth to (Jesus) who
shall be called the Son
of God.

Luke
1:34 Then said Mary unto
the angel, How shall this
be, seeing I know not a
man?

1:35 And the angel answered
and said unto her, The Holy
Ghost shall come upon thee,
and the power of the
Highest shall overshadow
thee: therefore also that
holy thing which shall
be born of thee shall be
called the Son of God.

Satan's devils recognized
Jesus Christ as the Son of
God.

Luke
4:40 Now when the sun
was setting, all they that
had any sick with divers
diseases brought them
unto him; and he laid his
hands on every one of
them, and healed them.

4:41 And devils also came
out of many, crying out,
and saying, Thou art
Christ the Son of God.
And he rebuking them
suffered them not to speak:
for they knew that he was
Christ.

John the Baptist declared
Jesus Christ to be the Son
of God.

John
1:29 The next day John
seeth Jesus coming unto
him, and saith, Behold
the Lamb of God, which
taketh away the sin of
the world.

1:30 This is he of whom I
said, After me cometh a
man which is preferred
before me: for he was
before me.

1:31 And I knew him not:
but that he should be
made manifest to Israel,
therefore am I come
baptizing with water.

1:32 And John bare record,
saying, I saw the Spirit
descending from heaven
like a dove, and it abode
upon him.

1:33 And I knew him not:
but he that sent me to
baptize with water, the
same said unto me, Upon
whom thou shalt see the
Spirit descending, and
remaining on him, the
same is he which
baptizeth with the Holy
Ghost.

1:34 And I saw, and bare
record that this is the
Son of God.

Nathanael, a new disciple
of Jesus, declared Jesus
to be the Son of God.

John
1:45 Philip findeth
Nathanael, and saith unto
him, We have found him,
of whom Moses in the law,
and the prophets, did write,
Jesus of Nazareth, the
son of Joseph.

1:46 And Nathanael said
unto him, Can there any
good thing come out of
Nazareth? Philip saith
unto him, Come and see.

1:47 Jesus saw Nathanael
coming to him, and saith
of him, Behold an Israelite
indeed, in whom is no guile!

1:48 Nathanael saith unto
him, Whence knowest thou
me? Jesus answered and
said unto him, Before that
Philip called thee, when
thou wast under the fig
tree, I saw thee.

1:49 Nathanael answered
and saith unto him, Rabbi,
thou art the Son of God;
thou art the King of Israel.

Martha, one of Lazarus'
sisters, declared Jesus to
be the Son of God.

John
11:23 Jesus saith unto her,
Thy brother shall rise again.

11:24 Martha saith unto him,
I know that he shall rise
again in the resurrection at
the last day.

11:25 Jesus said unto her,
I am the resurrection, and
the life: he that believeth
in me, though he were
dead, yet shall he live:

11:26 And whosoever
liveth and believeth in
me shall never die.
Believest thou this?

11:27 She saith unto him,
Yea, Lord: I believe that
thou art the Christ, the
Son of God, which
should come into the world.

Philip witnessed to a man
from Ethiopia about Jesus
from the Scriptures; and
that man stated that he
believed Jesus Christ to
be the Son of God.

Acts
8:26 And the angel of the Lord
spake unto Philip, saying,
Arise, and go toward the
south unto the way that
goeth down from Jerusalem
unto Gaza, which is desert.

8:27 And he arose and went:
and, behold, a man of
Ethiopia, an eunuch of
great authority under
Candace queen of the
Ethiopians, who had the
charge of all her treasure,
and had come to
Jerusalem for to worship,

8:28 Was returning, and
sitting in his chariot read
Esaias [Isaiah] the prophet.

8:29 Then the Spirit said
unto Philip, Go near, and
join thyself to this chariot.

8:30 And Philip ran thither
to him, and heard him
read the prophet Esaias,
and said, Understandest
thou what thou readest?

8:31 And he said, How
can I, except some man
should guide me? And he
desired Philip that he
would come up and sit
with him.

8:32 The place of the
scripture which he read
was this, He was led as a
sheep to the slaughter;
and like a lamb dumb
before his shearer, so
opened he not his mouth:

8:33 In his humiliation his
judgment was taken away:
and who shall declare his
generation? for his life is
taken from the earth.

8:34 And the eunuch
answered Philip, and said,
I pray thee, of whom
speaketh the prophet
this? of himself, or of
some other man?

8:35 Then Philip opened
his mouth, and began at
the same scripture, and
preached unto him Jesus.

8:36 And as they went on
their way, they came unto
a certain water: and the
eunuch said, See, here
is water; what doth
hinder me to be
baptized?

8:37 And Philip said, If
thou believest with all
thine heart, thou mayest.
And he answered and
said, I believe that
Jesus Christ is the
Son of God.

8:38 And he commanded
the chariot to stand still:
and they went down both
into the water, both
Philip and the eunuch;
and he baptized him.

8:39 And when they were
come up out of the water,
the Spirit of the Lord
caught away Philip, that
the eunuch saw him no
more: and he went on
his way rejoicing.

Saul (later re-named Paul by
Jesus) believed that
Jesus Christ was the
Son of God.

Acts
9:19 And when he had
received meat, he was
strengthened. Then was
Saul certain days with
the disciples which were
at Damascus.

9:20 And straightway he
preached Christ in the
synagogues, that he
is the Son of God.

What an exciting Bible study!
Jesus Christ truly is the Son
of the Living God in heaven!
