Who In The Bible Says Jesus Is God

This Bible study from
God's Holy Word, the
King James Bible, shows
the people who believed
that the Lord Jesus
Christ is God!

Words in Bold in
Scripture verses
are for emphasis.

Most importantly God the
Father in heaven Himself
calls Jesus Christ, His
only begotten Son,
"God"!

Hebrews 1:8
But unto the Son he
saith, Thy throne, O
God, is for ever and
ever: a sceptre of
righteousness is
the sceptre of thy
kingdom.

Please keep reading
for more proofs that
Jesus Christ is God!

Jesus Christ declared to
his disciples that he
himself is God!

John 10:30
I and my Father are one.

In this next verse, John
the apostle is saying
that God laid down
his life for us. And
since we know that
it was Jesus Christ
who died for our
sins, the Apostle
John is declaring
that God and Jesus
Christ are one and
the same!

1 John 3:16
Hereby perceive we
the love of God,
because he laid
down his life for us:
and we ought to lay
down our lives for
the brethren.

Jesus' mother, Mary,
said that God is her
Saviour. And since
we know that Jesus
Christ is the Saviour
of the world, Mary
was declaring that
Jesus is God!

Luke
1:46 And Mary said,
My soul doth magnify
the Lord,

1:47 And my spirit hath
rejoiced in God my
Saviour.

One of Jesus Christ's
original twelve disciples,
Thomas, declared
Jesus to be his Lord
and his God!

John 20:28
And Thomas answered
and said unto him,
My Lord and my God.

Isaiah prophesied
about, and Matthew
confirmed, that Jesus
Christ would be born
of a virgin, and
would be called
"Immanuel", which
means "God with
us". So, both Isaiah
and Matthew
believed that Jesus
Christ was God!

Isaiah 7:14 (the
prophecy)
Therefore the Lord
himself shall give you
a sign; Behold, a
virgin shall
conceive, and
bear a son, and
shall call his
name Immanuel.

Matthew (the
prophecy fulfilled)
1:21 And she shall
bring forth a son, and
thou shalt call his
name JESUS: for
he shall save his
people from their
sins.

1:22 Now all this was
done, that it might be
fulfilled which was
spoken of the Lord
by the prophet*,
saying,
[*Isaiah]

1:23 Behold, a virgin
shall be with child,
and shall bring forth
a son, and they shall
call his name
Emmanuel, which
being interpreted is,
God with us.

Jesus told Philip (one
of his original 12
disciples) that if he
had seen him
(Jesus), then he
(Philip) had seen
the Father
(meaning God the
Father in heaven)!
So Jesus was
declaring that he,
himself, is God!

John 14:9
Jesus saith unto him,
Have I been so long
time with you, and
yet hast thou not
known me, Philip?
he that hath seen
me hath seen the
Father; and how
sayest thou then,
Shew us the Father?

Jesus Christ was in
the desert for 40 days
and 40 nights and was
tempted of the Devil.
Satan tempted Jesus
Christ to throw
himself down from
the top of a high
temple because he
(Satan) said that
the angels would
protect Jesus. But
Jesus responded to
Satan by saying
that he (Satan)
should not tempt
God. And since
Satan was tempting
Jesus at the time,
that means that
Jesus Christ was
declaring that He
(Jesus) is God!

Matthew 4:7
Jesus said unto him,
It is written again,
Thou shalt not
tempt the Lord
thy God.

Jude, Jesus Christ's
half-brother,
declared that God
is our Saviour. And
since we know that
Jesus Christ is the
Saviour of the
world, then Jude
was declaring that
Jesus is God!

Jude 1:25
To the only wise God
our Saviour, be
glory and majesty,
dominion and
power, both now
and ever. Amen.

Glory and Honor and
Blessing on God the
Father, God the Son
(Jesus Christ), and
God the Holy Spirit!
