Jesus Christ Believes in OT People and Miracles

Jesus confirmed that
people from the Old
Testament were
real people in Bible
history. He also
confirmed miracles
that had been done
during the Old
Testament times.

Jesus confirmed that
the LORD God told
Moses that he would
raise up a Prophet
among the Jews
(Jesus Christ)
to whom God would
put His words in His
(Jesus’) mouth!

Words in bold in
Scripture verses is
for emphasis.

Words of the Lord
Jesus Christ are in red.

Jesus Christ is the Jewish
Prophet "like unto Moses"
who fulfilled this
prophecy from the Book
of Deuteronomy.

Deuteronomy
18:17 And the LORD
said unto me, They have
well spoken that which
they have spoken.

18:18 I will raise them
up a Prophet from
among their brethren
[Jesus Christ was a Jew],
like unto thee [Moses],
and will put my words
in his mouth; and he
shall speak unto them
all that I shall
command him.

Matthew
21:11 And the multitude
said, This is Jesus the
prophet of Nazareth of
Galilee.

Now here is where Jesus
confirms those Old
Testament people and
miracles. Jesus is
speaking about Moses.

Luke
24:27 And beginning at
Moses and all the
prophets, he [Jesus
Christ] expounded
unto them in all
the scriptures the
things concerning
himself.

John
5:46 For had ye
believed Moses, ye
would have
believed me: for
he wrote of me.

5:47 But if ye believe
not his writings, how
shall ye believe my
words?

Jesus Christ confirmed
that Isaiah wrote the
book of Isaiah. In the
verse in Matthew (below)
Jesus Christ was citing
Isaiah 6:9-10 which says:

Isaiah
6:9 And he said, Go, and
tell this people, Hear ye
indeed, but understand
not; and see ye indeed,
but perceive not.
6:10 Make the heart of
this people fat, and make
their ears heavy, and
shut their eyes; lest
they see with their eyes,
and hear with their ears,
and understand with
their heart, and convert,
and be healed.

Matthew
13:14 And in them is
fulfilled the prophecy
of Esaias [Greek for
Isaiah], which saith,
By hearing ye shall
hear, and shall not
understand; and seeing
ye shall see, and shall
not perceive:

Jesus confirmed that
DANIEL the prophet
wrote the Book of Daniel.

Matthew
24:14 And this gospel of
the kingdom shall be
preached in all the
world for a witness unto
all nations; and then
shall the end come.

24:15 When ye therefore
shall see the abomination
of desolation, spoken of by
Daniel the prophet,
stand in the holy place,
(whoso readeth, let him
understand:)

Jesus spoke of Adam
and Eve and Abel as
real people.

Genesis
2:23 And Adam said,
This is now bone of my
bones, and flesh of my
flesh: she shall be
called Woman [Eve],
because she was
taken out of Man.

Matthew
19:4 And he [Jesus]
answered and said unto
them, Have ye not read,
that he [God the Father
in heaven] which made
them [Adam and Eve]
at the beginning
made them male and
female,

19:5 And said, For this
cause shall a man
leave father and mother,
and shall cleave to
his wife: and they
twain shall be one
flesh?

Matthew
23:35 That upon you
may come all the
righteous blood shed
upon the earth, from
the blood of righteous
Abel unto the blood of
Zacharias son of
Barachias, whom ye
slew between the
temple and the altar.

Jesus spoke of Noah,
the flood, Lot,
Lot’s wife, and
Abraham as real
history and read
people.

Luke
17:26 And as it was in
the days of Noe
[Greek for Noah], so
shall it be also in the
days of the Son of man.

17:27 They did eat, they
drank, they married
wives, they were given
in marriage, until the
day that Noe entered
into the ark, and the
flood came, and
destroyed them all.

Luke
17:28 Likewise also as
it was in the days of
Lot; they did eat, they
drank, they bought,
they sold, they planted,
they builded;

17:29 But the same
day that Lot went out
of Sodom it rained fire
and brimstone from
heaven, and
destroyed them all.

17:32 Remember
Lot's wife.

John
8:56 Your father
Abraham rejoiced to
see my day: and he
saw it, and was glad.

Jesus confirmed Elijah
(Elias in Greek) and
Elisha (Eliseus in
Greek) were real
people.

Luke
4:25 But I tell you of
a truth, many widows
were in Israel in the
days of Elias [Greek
for Elijah], when
the heaven was shut up
three years and six
months, when great
famine was
throughout all the land;

4:26 But unto none of
them was Elias sent,
save unto Sarepta, a
city of Sidon, unto a
woman that was a
widow.

4:27 And many lepers
were in Israel in the
time of Eliseus
[Greek for Elisha]
the prophet; and
none of them was
cleansed, saving
Naaman the Syrian.

Jesus confirmed the
Genesis account of
creation.

Mark
13:19 For in those days
shall be affliction, such
as was not from the
beginning of the
creation which God
created unto this time,
neither shall be.

Jesus confirmed the
worldwide flood.

Luke
17:26 And as it was in
the days of Noe [Greek
for Noah], so shall it be
also in the days of
the Son of man.

17:27  They did eat,
they drank, they
married wives, they
were given in
marriage, until the
day that Noe entered
into the ark, and the
flood came, and
destroyed them
all.

Genesis
7:19 And the waters
prevailed exceedingly
upon the earth; and
all the high hills, that
were under the whole
heaven, were covered.

7:23 And every living
substance was
destroyed which was
upon the face of the
ground, both man, and
cattle, and the creeping
things, and the fowl of
the heaven; and they
were destroyed from
the earth: and Noah
only remained alive,
and they that were
with him in the ark.

Jesus believed in the
Old Testament account
of God judging Sodom for
its rampant homosexual
sin.

Luke
17:29 But the same day
that Lot went out of Sodom
it rained fire and brimstone
from heaven, and
destroyed them all.

Speaking of the end
times (which we are
living in), Jesus warned
us to “remember Lot’s
wife”, meaning
remember God’s
judgment on her for
loving the sinful life that
she had lived in Sodom
and how she regretted
having to leave Sodom.

Luke
17:32 Remember Lot's
wife.

Jesus spoke of God
miraculously feeding
manna to the children
of Israel (Jews) during
their Exodus in the
desert on their way
to the promised land.

Exodus
16:15 And when the
children of Israel
saw it, they said one
to another, It is
manna: for they
wist [knew] not what
it was. And Moses said
unto them, This is the
bread which the LORD
hath given you to eat.

Jesus spoke of how God
offered a miraculous
healing of the Israelites’
(if they chose to obey
Him) after they had been
bitten by serpents due to
their sin against God.

Numbers
21:6 And the LORD sent
fiery serpents among the
people, and they bit the
people; and much people
of Israel died.

21:7 Therefore the people
came to Moses, and said,
We have sinned, for we
have spoken against the
LORD, and against thee;
pray unto the LORD,
that he take away the
serpents from us. And
Moses prayed for the
people.

21:8 And the LORD said
unto Moses, Make thee
a fiery serpent, and set it
upon a pole: and it
shall come to pass, that
every one that is bitten,
when he looketh upon it,
shall live.

21:9 And Moses made a
serpent of brass, and
put it upon a pole, and it
came to pass, that if a
serpent had bitten any
man, when he beheld
the serpent of brass,
he lived.

John
3:14 And as Moses
lifted up the serpent
in the wilderness, even
so must the Son of man
be lifted up: [Jesus was
speaking of his future
death by being raised up
on the cross to die for
our sins.]

Jesus Christ confirmed
the miraculous
swallowing of Jonah
by a whale.

Matthew
12:39 But he answered
and said unto them, An
evil and adulterous
generation seeketh
after a sign; and there
shall no sign be given
to it, but the sign of
the prophet Jonas
[Greek for Jonah]:

12:40 For as Jonas [Jonah]
was three days and three
nights in the whale's
belly; so shall the Son
of man [Jesus Christ] be
three days and three
nights in the heart of the
earth.

Jesus demonstrated and
confirmed the power of
Scripture (the Holy Bible)
when he rebuked Satan
by quoting Deuteronomy
8:3 from the Old
Testament.

Deuteronomy
8:3 And he humbled thee,
and suffered thee to
hunger, and fed thee with
manna, which thou
knewest not, neither did
thy fathers know; that he
might make thee know
that man doth not live
by bread only, but by
every word that
proceedeth out of the
mouth of the LORD
doth man live.

Luke
4:4 And Jesus answered
him, saying, It is written,
That man shall not live by
bread alone, but by every
word of God.
