Who is teaching you the Bible - God's Holy Spirit or a human teacher?

From the following Bible
verses you can see that
you do not need a
teacher, a preacher,
a priest, a nun, a rabbi,
or a pope to teach you
how to interpret the
Bible! God's Holy Spirit
who dwells inside every
truly born again believer
in Jesus Christ will
teach you to understand
God's Word! How cool
is that!

And here is a tip that I
learned from David W.
Daniels at Chick
Publications that I
now follow when I do
my Bible study, and
it truly does help
because Jesus said
that the Holy Spirit
would teach us
what we need to know.

David Daniels said that
before he does his daily
KJV Bible study, he
prays that God the
Father would fill him
with God the Holy
Spirit so that he can
understand what he
is about to read. Then
David finishes his
prayer in the name
of Jesus Christ, God
the Son. (Jesus
Christ did tell us
to pray in his name.)
And although I keep
re-reading and
studying the whole
Bible, each time I
pray now in the
way David suggested,
God's Holy Spirit
helps me to understand
more and more. And if
I run into something I
do not understand, I
write it down on a
notepad or in a
notebook and research
it later. God says to
compare scripture to
scripture and then
usually I find the
answer. Of course,
we need to realize
that there are some
things we will not
understand until
perhaps when we get to
heaven. But, it is
amazing that if you do
some research, you
usually will find an answer
to your question, and in
the process you will learn
more about what the
Bible teaches on that
subject as you go. It also
helps to make sure you
understand that scripture
in light of the whole chapter
(the context so you
understand everything that
you can know about that
particular teaching).

Words in Bold in the
following Bible verses
are for emphasis.

King David said that he
had more understanding
than all his teachers
because he studied
God's word!

Psalm 119:99

I have more understanding
than all my teachers: for
thy testimonies are my
meditation.

I have heard it said that
as you read the Bible,
the Bible reads you! In
other words, the Bible
convicts you (and me)
of any sin we have in
our lives, and hopefully
leads us to repent of
our sin and ask God
in heaven for His
forgiveness.

Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God is
quick, and powerful, and
sharper than any
twoedged sword,
piercing even to the
dividing asunder of
soul and spirit, and
of the joints and
marrow, and is a
discerner of the
thoughts and
intents of the heart.

God's Word says we
do not need a man to
teach us His Word.

1 John 2:27

But the anointing which ye
have received of him
abideth in you, and ye
need not that any man
teach you: but as the
same anointing
teacheth you of all
things, and is truth, and
is no lie, and even as
it hath taught you, ye
shall abide in him.

Jesus said that the
Holy Ghost which
indwells every true
believer, will teach
us all things. We
learn the Bible through
God's Holy Ghost
(the Holy Spirit)!

John 14:26 [Jesus:]

But the Comforter,
which is the Holy
Ghost, whom the
Father will send in
my name, he shall
teach you all things
and bring all things
to your remembrance,
whatsoever I have
said unto you.

John 16:13

Howbeit when he, the
Spirit of truth, is come,
he will guide you into
all truth: for he shall
not speak of himself;
but whatsoever he
shall hear, that shall
he speak: and he
will shew you things
to come.

Jesus said that even
little children can
understand God's
word.

Matthew 11:25

At that time Jesus
answered and said,
I thank thee, O Father,
Lord of heaven and
earth, because thou
hast hid these things
from the wise and
prudent, and hast
revealed them
unto babes.

Jesus said the scriptures
(the Word of God)
testify of Jesus Christ
and how to have eternal
life through him.

John 5:39

Search the scriptures;
for in them ye think ye
have eternal life: and
they are they which
testify of me.

These Bible verses
reinforce to us that we
can know God's Holy
Words because God's
Holy Spirit indwells all
true believers when
they are saved by
faith in Jesus Christ's
death and
resurrection.

Also, if you cannot
understand a verse,
God says to compare
scripture with scripture
to find the answer.
Look to God's Word
and ask the Holy
Spirit to help you
understand what
is not clear to you.

1 Corinthians
2:12 Now we have
received, not the spirit
of the world, but the
spirit which is of God;
that we might know
the things that are
freely given to us
of God.

2:13 Which things also
we speak, not in the
words which man's
wisdom teacheth, but
which the Holy Ghost
teacheth; comparing
spiritual things with
spiritual.

The Holy Bible (the
King James Version) is
inspired by God and
will instruct us, convict
us of sin, and give us
what we need to know
to live in righteousness.

2 Timothy 3:16
All scripture is given
by inspiration of God,
and is profitable for
doctrine, for reproof,
for correction, for
instruction in
righteousness:
