The Bible On Who Is Called A Saint

What does the Holy Word of
God, the King James Bible,
say about who saints are?

When I searched the King
James Bible in eSword,
there are 98 verses that
speak about saints (plural)
or individual saints. I hope
you will keep reading
because the Bible has a
lot to say about this
subject.

First let me say that I have
read that the Catholic church
teaches that we should
pray to dead people
('saints'); but God says
that once we die then
comes the judgment.
Dead people have no
power to answer our
prayers. Only God Almighty
in heaven has the power
to answer our prayers!

Hebrews 9:27
And as it is appointed unto
men once to die, but after
this the judgment:

Well, then, who are the
saints that the Bible talks
about? God's Word, the King
James Bible, says that
"saints" are those believers
who put their faith in the
Lord Jesus Christ's death
and resurrection for their
sins and obey God's Word.

Revelation 14:12
Here is the patience of
the saints: here are they
that keep the
commandments of God,
and the faith of
Jesus.

The Apostle Paul called
himself "the least of all
saints".

Ephesians 3:8
Unto me, who am less
than the least of all saints,
is this grace given, that I
should preach among
the Gentiles the
unsearchable riches of
Christ;

Paul went to Jerusalem to
minister to the saints
(believers) there.

Romans 15:25
But now I go unto
Jerusalem to minister unto
the saints.

Peter called the believers
in Jesus Christ at Lydda
saints.

Acts 9:32
And it came to pass, as
Peter passed throughout
all quarters, he came down
also to the saints which
dwelt at Lydda.

Paul called those who lived
in Corinth who were sanctified
in Christ Jesus saints.
(Hebrews 10:10 below
explains that ‘sanctified’ is
what happens when we
accept that Jesus Christ
died for our sins and rose
again from the dead.)

1 Corinthians 1:2
Unto the church of God
which is at Corinth, to
them that are sanctified
in Christ Jesus, called
to be saints, with all
that in every place
call upon the name of
Jesus Christ our Lord,
both theirs and ours:

Hebrews 10:10

By the which will we are
sanctified through the
offering of the body of
Jesus Christ once for all.

Paul called the believers in
Jesus Christ at Colosse
saints.

Colossians 1:2
To the saints and faithful
brethren in Christ which
are at Colosse: Grace be
unto you, and peace, from
God our Father and the
Lord Jesus Christ.

Paul called the believers
in Jesus Christ in Philippi
saints.

Philippians 1:1
Paul and Timotheus, the
servants of Jesus Christ, to
all the saints in Christ
Jesus which are at Philippi,
with the bishops and
deacons:

Paul called the believers
in Jesus Christ in Achaia
saints.

2 Corinthians 1:1
Paul, an apostle of Jesus
Christ by the will of God,
and Timothy our brother,
unto the church of God
which is at Corinth, with all
the saints which are in all
Achaia:

And in these next verses we
see that true believers will
be with Jesus Christ among
his "ten thousands of
saints" when he returns to
judge the inhabitants of
earth for their rejection of
God's gift of salvation
through His Sinless Son,
Jesus Christ!

Jude
1:14 And Enoch also, the
seventh from Adam,
prophesied of these,
saying, Behold, the
Lord cometh with ten
thousands of his saints,

1:15 To execute
judgment upon all, and
to convince all that are
ungodly among them of
all their ungodly deeds
which they have ungodly
committed, and of all
their hard speeches which
ungodly sinners have
spoken against him.
