Should we worship or pray to angels?

What does the Bible say
about praying to angels
or worshiping them?

The Bible makes it very
clear that we are not to
pray to angels or to
worship them!

Prayer is a form of worship
to pay reverence to God
Almighty in heaven!
Praying to anyone else
(either on earth or in
heaven) is idolatry
which God hates! So
praying to angels
would be a form of
idolatry or worship
of those angels
which were created
by God Almighty!

Exodus 34:14

For thou shalt worship
no other god: for the
LORD, whose name
is Jealous, is a
jealous God:

Deuteronomy

5:8 Thou shalt not
make thee any graven
image, or any likeness
of any thing that is in
heaven above [that
would include
angels], or that is in
the earth beneath,
or that is in the waters
beneath the earth:

5:9 Thou shalt not
bow down thyself
unto them, nor serve
them: for I the LORD
thy God am a jealous
God, visiting the
iniquity of the fathers
upon the children
unto the third and
fourth generation of
them that hate me,

The Apostle John, who
wrote the Book of
Revelation, tried to
worship the angel
who showed him
future events that
would happen in the
Last Days, but the
angel rejected
John's worship, and
told him to worship
God the Father in
heaven instead!
(See verse 9 below).

Revelation

22:8 And I John saw
these things, and heard
them. And when I had
heard and seen, I fell
down to worship
before the feet of
the angel which
shewed me these
things.

22:9 Then saith he
unto me, See thou
do it not: for I am thy
fellowservant, and of
thy brethren the
prophets, and of
them which keep
the sayings of this
book: worship God.

There are several
reasons why we
should not pray to
angels. Jesus Christ
never prayed to
anyone except his
Father in heaven!
When his disciples
asked him how they
should pray, Jesus
started his prayer
addressed to God
the Father in heaven.
If Jesus had wanted
us to also pray to
angels, He would
have told us at
that time. There is
nothing in God's
Word that says to
pray to angels.

Matthew 6:9
After this manner
therefore pray ye:
Our Father which
art in heaven
Hallowed be thy
name.

In Matthew 11:25-26
Jesus Christ again
prays to God the
Father in heaven;
but also in His
prayers He usually
asks for assistance
from Someone who
is all-powerful
(omnipotent),
all-seeing (omniscient),
and who is present
everywhere
(omnipresent).
Angels are just
created beings, and
do not have any of
these powers that
God has to help us.

In John 17:1-26 Jesus
Christ again prays to
God the Father in
heaven; praying on
behalf of His
followers for things
that angels have no
power to give: to
sanctify us, to
glorify us, and to
give us eternal life.

In this next Bible verse
Jesus Christ tells us
that whatever we
ask in his name, he
will do it so that
God the Father
would be glorified
through him. Praying
to angels would go
against what God's
Holy Word, the
King James Bible,
says about Who it
is we are to pray to.

John 14:13

And whatsoever ye
shall ask in my name,
that will I do, that the
Father [in heaven]
may be glorified in
the Son.

Jesus Christ, the sin-less
Son of God, died on the
cross to pay your
sin-debt and mine,
rose from the grave,
and is in heaven now
interceding for us with
God the Father. Jesus
Christ is the only one
who can intercede
for us with God the
Father in heaven.
Angels are just
created beings.
Angels have no
power to intercede
on our behalf when
we sin or to answer
our prayers.

1 John 2:1
My little children, these
things write I unto you,
that ye sin not. And if
any man sin, we have
an advocate with the
Father, Jesus Christ
the righteous:

1 Timothy 2:5
For there is one God,
and one mediator
between God and
men, the man Christ
Jesus;

Romans 8:34
Who is he that
condemneth? It is
Christ that died,
yea rather, that is
risen again, who
is even at the right
hand of God, who
also maketh
intercession for us.

Hebrews 7:25
Wherefore he [Jesus
Christ] is able also to
save them to the
uttermost that
come unto God by
him, seeing he
ever liveth to
make intercession
for them.

Jesus Christ is now in
heaven on the right
hand of God; and
angels are made
subject unto Him.

1 Peter 3:22
[Jesus Christ]
Who is gone into
heaven, and is on the
right hand of God
angels and authorities
and powers being
made subject unto him.

The angels in heaven
worship God in
heaven alone; as
should we!

Revelation 7:11
And all the angels
stood round about the
throne, and about the
elders and the four
beasts, and fell
before the throne
on their faces, and
worshipped God,
