The Only Thing That Really Satisfies!

What in your life satisfies
you so completely that
you will never want
anything else ever
again?

...money?
...the newest cell phone?
...texting?
...social media?
...television?
...music?
...pets?
...fame?
...food?
...alcohol?
...sex?
...shopping?
...sports?
...animals?
...nature?
...physical fitness?
...a special person?
...a big house?
...a special car?
...an important job?
...electronics: smart
phones, computers,
games, etc.?

The Bible says that we
came into this world naked,
and that's how we will
leave it! So, we cannot
take our 'toys' with us
when we die!

Ecclesiastes 5:15
As he came forth of his
mother's womb, naked
shall he return to go as
he came, and shall take
nothing of his labour,
which he may carry
away in his hand.

Now think about this...
(and please read all of
this because there is good
news later on in this post).
And this post is not
directed at you personally,
but at me also.

...You can lose your money
in a heartbeat. Even rich
people have gone
bankrupt because of
bank failures, or from
business partners that
have embezzled from
them, or from investments
in the stock market that
have declined in value,
or from money that has
been stolen by
computer hackers, or
even by being robbed
in your home or your
business or anywhere.

...Fame is fleeting. Just
ask all those people
who were famous and
then made so much
money that they got
bored and got into
trouble with drugs,
alcohol, or something
illegal because being
famous and rich made
them want more stuff.
Many times being rich
and famous they
became prideful of
themselves and would
cheat on their spouses,
and ended up being
divorced, and losing
their families. Many
have ended up broke
because they thought
the money would just
keep coming, and kept
spending lavishly, or
going into debt. The
'world' is addicted to
famous people and what
they are doing; but their
fame and good looks
won't last forever. The
'world' soon moves on
to the latest famous
person who has made
the headlines in the
news. And those in
Hollywood or in sports
learn that they are no
longer wanted when
they start to age and
lose their beauty or their
physical abilities. Their
acting parts stop being
offered, or their sports
contracts are not renewed
because they're no
longer good enough,
and suddenly poof! The
fame is gone!

...Food! By the fact that
so many Americans are
overweight tells you that
we are obsessed with
food. Why? For many
different reasons. But,
our spoiled generation
feels the need to reward
ourselves, and we want
instant gratification. But
food will never satisfy
completely. We'll always
want more. And not just
to feed our normal appetite,
but to tell ourselves that
treating ourselves - just
this once - will satisfy.
But, it doesn't - not for
very long. This is one
of my big sins - I love
to eat.

...Sex. America is obsessed
with sex. Personally,
we've been so
overwhelmed with
people pawing each
other like animals on TV
or in movies that it's
disgusting. We
wouldn't watch
someone in real life
in their bedroom while
they make love, so why
don't we think it is
wrong to watch it on the
TV or movie screen?
Hollywood has made
us a country of voyeurs
(but not without our
consent)! Sex today is
used as an entertainment
that has no meaning
beyond satisfying a
temporary desire, just
like the animals do!
But God intended sex to be
so much more! He intended
that sex would be the linking
of a husband and wife who
love and adore each other,
and have made a
commitment to each
other - that they would
give 100% of themselves
to their spouse alone.
Sex was not intended to
be "What can I get
out of it?" (that's the
world's attitude: "It's all
about me and what I
want or need"), but it
should be "What can
I give to my spouse to
make him or her happy?"

...Shopping. Americans
are obsessed with
owning things. Even if
we don't need them. That's
why there are TV shows
like "Hoarders". It's so
sad to see people
obsessed with having
lots of 'things' - and they
are the most miserable
people. But even those
who are not hoarders,
but are obsessed with
shopping, they are never
going to be satisfied with
what they've bought...at
least, not forever
because they'll always
want more, and there
will always be newer, more
updated stuff to buy. And
so they rent storage
places in order to store
their 'stuff' because they
have so much they do
not even use it!

...A special person. There
is no personal
relationship - friendship
or marriage - that will
totally satisfy. Why?
Because we are all
sinners, and we will
sometimes hurt even the
people we love, even
if we don't do it
intentionally. In order
to last, relationships
have to be worked at. I
know that in my first
marriage (he's now
deceased) I depended
on my husband to fulfill
me - to complete me -
and that is not possible
for someone else to do
that. What I was
searching for was
someone to fill the void
I felt in my heart - that
space God built inside
each one of us when he
created us - that space
that was meant for a
close personal
relationship with God!
I wish I had known that
back then.

...A big house. That goes
back to that issue of our
materialistic society, but
also to wanting to show
others how wealthy we
are because of the
status symbol of a big
house. But, here's the
kicker....houses can burn
...houses can be flooded
...hurricanes or tornadoes
can destroy a house in
minutes or even seconds
...wealth can be lost and
the house would have to
be sold
...one spouse can
die and you are no longer
able to afford it
...thieves can break in
and steal, etc. But, in
the long run, just having
a nice house will never
satisfy you completely.
Because you'll always
want something bigger
and better...

...A special car. I recently
watched a TV show
where the husband and
wife were obsessed with
their car. They wanted
their garage made over
like a 'shrine' to this car.
The car had to have a
special 'house' to live in!
No car will satisfy
completely. It may be
nice, but it is not
permanent. A car
ages, it may get
damaged by accident,
tornado, hurricane,
fire, etc.; or your finances
may change and it will
have to be sold; or it
can get stolen, etc.
And once the car ages,
you may then obsess
over another newer car
to replace it. So, a car,
will never satisfy you
completely.

...An important job. A job
can be lost for many
different reasons: a
company goes bankrupt,
someone embezzles
funds and the company
goes out of business
because of the bad
publicity, the company
downsizes their staff,
workplace politics cause
someone else to take
over your job, the company
moves their branch
overseas because they
can't afford to keep up
with the regulations
imposed here in America,
etc. And that's not to
scare you into worrying
about your job; it's just to
make you aware that a job
cannot satisfy you
completely and may not
last forever.

...Electronics: smart
phones, computers,
games, etc. I am amazed
that people are so
obsessed with their
phones and new
technology, many times
to the exclusion of
everything and everyone
else. But, all of that will
be gone in a minute if
we get hit with an EMT.
We would lose all power
and no one will be able to
use any of these devices.
So, I wouldn't get too
attached to my electronic
'things'. Plus they will
never satisfy you completely
because there will always
be a newer model coming
out - maybe even as we
speak.

So, what in this earthly life
will satisfy completely?
Nothing from the things on
this list (or other items you
may think to add to it)
will satisfy you or I
completely - or forever.

So, what does satisfy
forever? A relationship
with God through his
Son Jesus Christ!

Romans 5:1
Therefore being justified
by faith, we have peace
with God through our
Lord Jesus Christ:

As Christians, we can
depend upon God to
supply all our needs so
we don't need to worry
or push to get more stuff,
to own more, or to try to
'keep up with the Jones',
as the saying goes. God
knows what we have
need of. King David said
that he had never seen
God forsake the righteous,
even when they got older.

Psalm 37:25
I have been young, and
now am old; yet have I
not seen the righteous
forsaken, nor his seed
begging bread.

Matthew (Jesus said:)
6:31 Therefore take no
thought, saying, what
shall we eat? or, what
shall we drink? or,
wherewithal shall we
be clothed?

6:32 (For after all these
things do the Gentiles
seek:) for your heavenly
Father knoweth that
ye have need of all these
things.

6:33 But seek ye first
the kingdom of God,
and his
righteousness; and
all these things
shall be added unto
you.

Philippians 4:19
But my God shall
supply all your need
according to his riches
in glory by Christ Jesus.

The only thing that satisfies
completely is found in a
relationship with God,
our loving heavenly
Father, who sacrificed
his only begotten Son,
Jesus Christ, to die on
the cross and shed His
sinless blood to pay for
your sins and my sins.
And then God resurrected
Him from the dead to
show that he accepted
Jesus's sinless blood
payment in full for our
sins.

Romans
5:8 But God commendeth
his love toward us, in
that, while we were
yet sinners, Christ
died for us.

5:9 Much more then,
being now justified
by his blood, we
shall be saved from
wrath through him.
5:10 For if, when we
were enemies, we
were reconciled to
God by the death of
his Son, much more,
being reconciled, we
shall be saved by his
life.

Ephesians
2:8 For by grace
[God's unearned favor] are
ye saved through faith;
and that not of
yourselves: it is
the gift of God:

2:9 Not of works, lest
any man should boast.

And, if you have not yet
accepted Jesus Christ
as your personal Saviour,
and would like to find
that COMPLETE
SATISFACTION that
salvation from your
sins brings, and lose
your fear of death and
know that you will go
to heaven when
you die, here is how...
(Also knowing where
you will go when you
die is NOT
presumption! It is a
promise from God
to us in His Holy
Word, the King James
Bible! God is a loving
God and does not want
us worrying our whole
lives whether we will
get to heaven or not.
He wants us to be
joyful Christians full
of his peace and
hope for a future in
heaven with Him!

How Can I Get To Heaven?

How can I be saved
from my sins and know
that I will go to heaven
when I die? God's Holy
Word, the King James
Bible, tells us how:

Agree with God in
heaven that you are
sinner and need
Saviour. GOD SAYS
WE ARE ALL
SINNERS. But keep
reading because
there is Good News
for you:

Romans 3:23
For all have sinned,
and come short of the
glory of God;

Be willing to turn from
your sin (repent).

Acts 17:30
And the times of this
ignorance God winked
at; but now commandeth
all men every where to
repent:

Believe that Jesus
Christ, the Sinless Son
of God, shed his blood
on the cross to pay
for your sins and
mine, was buried,
and that three
days later He rose
from the dead.

Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess
with thy mouth the Lord
Jesus, and shalt believe
in thine heart that God
hath raised him from
the dead, thou shalt
be saved.

Repent of trusting in
anything or anyone
other than Jesus
Christ (i.e. baptism,
good works, idols,
false gods, $/tithes
man-made church
rules or traditions,
or religious
ceremonies) to
save you.

Titus 3:5
Not by works of
righteousness which we
have done, but according
to his mercy he saved us,
by the washing of
regeneration, and
renewing of the Holy
Ghost;

Jesus said that we do
not get to heaven by our
good works (stuff we
have done). See verses
7:22 and 7:23 below!

Matthew
7:21 Not every one that
saith unto me, Lord,
Lord, shall enter into
the kingdom of heaven;
but he that doeth the
will of my Father which
is in heaven.

7:22 Many will say to
me in that day, Lord,
Lord, have we not
prophesied in thy
name? and in thy
name have cast
out devils? and in
thy name done
many wonderful
works?

7:23 And then will I
profess unto them,
I never knew you:
depart from me, ye
that work iniquity.

Accept God's Free
Gift of eternal life
through his Sinless
Son, the Lord Jesus
Christ. It is a free gift
to you, but it cost Jesus
Christ his life! You do
not have to work to
earn a Gift - It is free!

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is
death; but the gift of
God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ
our Lord.

Ask Jesus Christ to be
your personal Saviour
and Lord of your life.

Romans 10:13
For whosoever shall
call upon the name
of the Lord shall be
saved.

So, if you did that and
sincerely meant it,
then you are now a
Christian! Welcome
to the family.

Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess
with thy mouth the Lord
Jesus, and shalt believe
in thine heart that God
hath raised him from
the dead, thou shalt
be saved.

And when you die, you
will go straight to heaven
to be with Jesus Christ
forever and ever! The
following Bible verse
is one of my favorites.
It gave me comfort when
I went through double
breast cancer surgery
for I knew that if I died
on the operating table
I would immediately be
in heaven with Jesus!
Knowing that is why I
no longer fear what
comes after death.
What freedom there is
in knowing that.

2 Corinthians 5:8
We are confident, I say,
and willing rather to be
absent from the body,
and to be present with
the Lord.

One note to all dear
Catholics: The Catholic
church says that it is
wrong to believe that
you can know you are
saved before you die.
Please think about
this: God is a God of
love. After all he sent
his Son to die for your
sins so you could be
with him in heaven for
eternity! That is love!
Why would a God of love
want you to worry all of
your life whether you will
go to heaven or hell when
you die? God in heaven
wants us to have peace
and joy in this life as we
live for him and draw
others to him as their
Saviour. Only a cruel
God would want us
worried and stressed
about what comes after
death. But GOD LOVES
YOU and wants you to
have peace knowing that
you are saved now and
can know now that you
are going to heaven when
you die! Please trust your
loving heavenly Father's
Holy Word (the King James
Bible) when God tells you
that you will be with Him
after death if you trusted
Jesus Christ as your
Saviour!

And now that you have
become a Christian, it
is important to learn how
to live a life that glorifies
God in heaven who gave
you the Gift of salvation.
