Why We Have Pain Suffering And Death

Words in Bold in Bible
verses are for emphasis.

Words in red are the
words of our Lord
Jesus Christ.

Pain and death came
into the world because
of our sin. It's not
popular to talk about
sin, but if we want to
get to heaven we had
better find out what to
do about our sin
problem. God says we
are ALL sinners, me
included.

God had provided Adam
and Eve, the first man
and woman, with many
kinds of fruit trees to
eat from, and yet they
still wanted to eat from
the only tree that God
had forbidden! Sounds
like us, wanting to run
our own lives and keep
God out of the picture;
but God loves us and
wants what is best for
us.

Genesis 1:29
And God said, Behold,
I have given you every
herb bearing seed,
which is upon the face
of all the earth, and
every tree, in the
which is the fruit of a
tree yielding seed; to
you it shall be for
meat [food].

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the thoughts
that I think toward you,
saith the LORD,
thoughts of peace,
and not of evil, to give
you an expected end.

Adam and Eve’s sin was
like all of our sin. It feels
good or seems right
emotionally at the time;
but there are always
consequences as a
result of that sin. The
consequences may
not be immediate, just
like Adam and Eve
didn't die immediately
upon eating the
forbidden fruit. They
died spiritually
immediately, but their
bodies did begin to age
from that point on and
they would eventually
die because of their
disobedience against
their loving heavenly
Father's one and only
rule. And just like
Adam and Eve, we
may not feel the
consequences of our
sin for days, weeks,
months, or even years
for us to feel the effects,
but we will eventually
feel it...either through
suffering and/or death
to ourselves or to our
loved ones.

God says that all of us
are sinners. Our
disobedience to God's
Holy Word (the Bible)
is what He calls sin.

Romans 5:12
Wherefore, as by one
man [Adam] sin entered
into the world, and
death by sin; and so
death passed upon
all men, for that all
have sinned:

God also says that if
WE SAY we are not a
sinner, then we are
deceiving ourselves.
That's God's Words,
not mine.

1 John 1:8
If we say that we have
no sin, we deceive
ourselves, and the truth
is not in us.

Some People Think
THEY are NOT a Sinner
because...

1) they try to be good.
2) they compare
themselves to other
people who are worse
than they are.
3) they think God
grades 'on the curve',
and they think if they
do more good deeds
than bad stuff that
God will let them into
heaven.

But, those people don't
know what the Bible says
about our Holy God in
heaven who cannot be
around sin (or sinners)
because you and I would
have to be Perfect to
get into heaven! Yikes!
That leaves me out
- way out! And no one
can get into heaven
unless they are perfect
because God cannot be
around sin.

But, please keep
reading because there
IS Good News coming!

Romans 3:23
For all have sinned, and
come short of the glory of
God;

Habbakuk 1:13(a)
Thou [God] art of purer
eyes than to behold evil,
and canst not look on
iniquity [sin]:

Revelation 21:27
And there shall in no
wise [way] enter into
it [heaven] any thing
that defileth [the
impure], neither
whatsoever worketh
abomination [evil in
the sight of God], or
maketh a lie: but they
which are written in the
Lamb's book of life.

Some people think they
will get to heaven
because they try to keep
the Ten Commandments.
But keeping all of the Ten
Commandments is an
impossible thing to do.
Here's why:

Have you ever lied? I
know I have. One of
God’s Commandments
is to not lie.

Exodus 20:16
Thou shalt not bear false
witness [lie] against thy
neighbour.

Be aware that no liars can
enter into heaven! Yikes!

But please keep reading
because good news is
coming.

Revelation 21:27
And there shall in no
wise [way] enter into it
[heaven] any thing that
defileth, neither
whatsoever worketh
abomination, or
maketh a lie:
but they which are
written in the Lamb's
book of life.

Revelation 21:8
But the fearful, and
unbelieving, and the
abominable, and
murderers, and
whoremongers, and
sorcerers, and
idolaters, and all
liars, shall have
their part in the lake
which burneth with
fire and brimstone:
which is the second
death.

Have you ever stolen
anything, even something
small like a candy bar, a
pen from work, a towel
from a hotel, or bigger
things like stealing
work time from your
employer by goofing
off, or cheating on
your taxes?

God says stealing is
sin; and there can be
no sin in heaven.

Another of the Ten
Commandments is
to not steal.

Exodus 20:15
Thou shalt not steal.

Have you ever lusted
after someone other than
your spouse, even lusted
after a movie star or an
athlete or anyone other
than your husband or
wife? God says that
is sin; and there can
be no sin in heaven.
Read these verses to
see what Jesus says
about lust. His words
are in red.

Exodus 20:17
Thou shalt not covet
[lust after] thy neighbour's
house, thou shalt not
covet thy neighbour's
wife, nor his
manservant, nor his
maidservant, nor his
ox, nor his ass, nor
any thing that is thy
neighbour's.

Matthew 5:28 (Jesus said:)
But I say unto you, That
whosoever looketh on a
woman to lust after her
hath committed
adultery with her
already in his heart.

1 John 2:16
For all that is in the world,
the lust of the flesh,
and the lust of the
eyes, and the pride of
life, is not of the Father
[God in heaven], but is
of the world.

If you have done any
or all of these things
(lied, stolen, and
lusted), then you have
already broken three
of God's Ten
Commandments!
(See all Ten
Commandments in
the Book of Exodus,
Chapter 20.)

Still don't think all
humans are sinners?

Just look at how an
infant or toddler acts. Do
you need to teach them
to disobey you? Just try
and tell them not to
touch something or
not to do something.
And they just have to
touch it or do it anyway!
It is born into us to
disobey. It is our sin
nature that we inherited
from our ancestors,
Adam and Eve, just as
they wanted to do things
their way instead of
God's way.

Genesis 8:21
And the LORD smelled
a sweet savour; and
the LORD said in his
heart, I will not again
curse the ground any
more for man's sake;
for the imagination
of man's heart is evil
from his youth;
neither will I again
smite any more every
thing living, as I have
done [talking of the
worldwide flood].

Maybe you think you
are sinless because
you do a lot of good
deeds for other people?

But, God says that our
good deeds
(righteousnesses) are
as filthy rags to him!
That is because He is
perfect and holy.

Isaiah 64:6(a)
But we are all as an
unclean thing, and all
our righteousnesses
are as filthy rags;

God does not grade on
a curve. He says we ALL
are sinners; and there
can be no sin in heaven.

But keep reading
because the Good
News is coming.

Psalm 14:3
They are all gone aside,
they are all together
become filthy: there is
none that doeth good,
no, not one.

Romans 3:23
For all have sinned,
and come short of the
glory of God;

Romans 3:10
As it is written, There is
none righteous, no,
not one:

Satan loves to tempt
us to sin against God.

Sometimes we suffer
because Satan is the
enemy of all humans,
especially committed
Christians who want
to live in obedience to
God the Father in
heaven. Satan desires
to tempt you to sin
against God, and you
suffer the
consequences, which
either hurts you, your
loved ones, or hurts
your witness to others
about your faith in our
Lord and Saviour,
Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 5:8
Be sober, be vigilant;
because your
adversary the devil,
as a roaring lion,
walketh about,
seeking whom he
may devour:

Satan also wants to
stop you from
accepting Jesus
Christ as your
personal Saviour so
that you will go to
hell, along with him
(the devil) and his
fallen angels (devils).

Matthew 25:41 (Jesus:)
Then shall he say also
unto them on the left
hand, Depart from me,
ye cursed, into
everlasting fire,
prepared for the
devil and his
angels:

Satan loves to tempt us
to spend time and energy
on things that have no
eternal value that cause
us to waste time on TV,
texting, worldly
magazines and books,
worldly DVDs and
movies, surfing the
internet and visiting
less than family-friendly
websites, shopping
endlessly, or whatever
earthly endeavors
mean more to you
than spending time
with God in prayer,
Bible study, and
witnessing to others
how to have salvation
through faith in Jesus
Christ's death and
resurrection for their
sins.

Satan especially does
not want you to study
the Real Word of God,
the King James Bible,
to learn how to live a
godly life that is
pleasing to God. Below
are links to my posts
concerning the different
Bible versions. I have
spent many years
studying about Bible
versions to learn
which Bible is the
one and only Word
of God which He
promised many times
to preserve forever. It
is shocking how
Satan is winning the
war against God's one
True Bible!

Wonder why we never
have any great revivals
like there used to be in
the past? That's
because there is no
power in sinful man's
re-writes of God's Holy
Word (which publishers
change every year or
so because it's big
money to sell new
bibles)!

I have shown resources
in these posts (plus my
Bible study posts) that
will help you find out for
yourself why it is
important that you
study the Real Word
of God, the King James
Bible.

Personally, I want to know
what God actually wants
me to know in His Holy
Bible, not what sinful
man thinks God meant
to say (meaning the
scholars and critics are
playing God when they
rewrite the Bible to
make their own 'bible'
and disregard God's Holy
Words). Those man-made
versions are man’s words,
not God’s! That is why
there is no power in
them and no more
revivals! The King James
Bible was around for
hundreds of years before
man decided he knew
better than God what
God 'meant' to say in
His Bible!

Also Satan does not
want you to spend time
in prayer getting to know
God intimately through
Jesus Christ, our
intercessor with God.

Hebrews 7:25
Wherefore he [Jesus
Christ] is able also to
save them to the
uttermost that come
unto God by him,
seeing he ever
liveth to make
intercession for
them.

Romans 8:34
Who is he that
condemneth? It is
Christ that died, yea
rather, that is risen
again, who is even
at the right hand of
God, who also
maketh intercession
for us.

Jesus spent many
hours in prayer while
he was here on earth,
sometimes praying all
night to God the
Father in heaven.

Luke 6:12
And it came to pass in
those days, that he
[Jesus Christ] went
out into a mountain
to pray, and continued
all night in prayer to
God [in heaven].

And if Jesus, the Son
of God, needed a
lot of prayer to stay
close to God the Father
in heaven, then we
humans need it even
more! There is power
in prayer! My sister
used to say be careful
what you asked my
mom to pray for
because God would
bring it to pass! Mom
was a real prayer
warrior.

And lastly, Satan
does not want you to
share with other
people how they can
be saved from their
sins by God's grace
through faith in
Jesus Christ's death
and resurrection for
their sins. Jesus
told us to share the
Good News with
everyone! God
wants everyone
to go to heaven!

2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack
concerning his promise,
as some men count
slackness; but is
longsuffering to us-ward,
not willing that any
should perish, but
that all should come to
repentance.

Mark 16:15
And he [Jesus] said unto
them [his disciples -
that includes us], Go ye
into all the world, and
preach the gospel to
every creature [person].

Satan is constantly
accusing us of our
sins before God (see
Revelation 12:10
below); but Jesus is
there at the right hand
of God interceding on
our behalf because
His Sinless blood
covers our sins!

Revelation 12:10
And I heard a loud voice
saying in heaven, Now is
come salvation, and
strength, and the
kingdom of our God,
and the power of his
Christ [Jesus]: for the
accuser [Satan] of
our brethren [believers]
is cast down, which
accused them before
our God day and night.

1 Peter 5:8
Be sober, be vigilant;
because your
adversary the devil,
as a roaring lion,
walketh about, seeking
whom he may devour:

But we can't blame Satan
for our sins as is popular
to do. He and his fallen
angels (devils) may
tempt us to sin; but
God has made a way
for us to keep from
giving in to temptation,
and avoid suffering the
consequences that
always come after
we sin.

1 Corinthians 10:13
There hath no temptation
taken you but such as is
common to man: but
God is faithful, who
will not suffer you to
be tempted above that
ye are able; but will
with the temptation
also make a way to
escape, that ye may
be able to bear it.

One way to avoid
temptation to sin is to
memorize Bible verses
that pertain to our areas
of weakness that will
help you (and me)
concentrate on the
Lord instead of letting
our sinful thoughts
lead us into sinful
actions.

2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself
approved unto God, a
workman that needeth
not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word
of truth.

Also, when we do sin
after we have accepted
Jesus Christ as our
Saviour, if we humbly
ask God the Father in
heaven to forgive us
of our sins (on the
basis of Christ's
sinless blood
sacrifice for our sins),
then God will forgive
us. Jesus is in heaven
right now interceding
on our behalf with God
the Father.

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins
[to God in heaven], he
is faithful and just to
forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us
from all
unrighteousness.

1 John 2:1
My little children,
these things write I
unto you, that ye sin
not. And if any man
sin, we have an
advocate with the
Father [in heaven],
Jesus Christ the
righteous:

Because of Adam's sin
of obeying his wife
instead of God; he
would thereafter have
to work hard to provide
food for his family.
Whereas, before they
sinned, God had
supplied them with all
of their food and they
didn't have to work for it!

Genesis
3:17 And unto Adam he
said, Because thou hast
hearkened unto the
voice of thy wife, and
hast eaten of the tree,
of which I commanded
thee, saying, Thou
shalt not eat of it:
cursed is the ground
for thy sake; in sorrow
shalt thou eat of it all
the days of thy life;
3:18 Thorns also and
thistles shall it bring
forth to thee; and thou
shalt eat the herb of
the field;
3:19 In the sweat of thy
face shalt thou eat
bread, till thou return
unto the ground; for
out of it wast thou
taken: for dust thou
art, and unto dust
shalt thou return.

And because Eve
sinned against God
first by eating the
forbidden fruit and
then tempting her
husband to disobey
God, from that time
forward she (and all
womankind after her)
would suffer in childbirth.
This suffering is another
consequence of sin.

Genesis 3:16
Unto the woman he said,
I will greatly multiply thy
sorrow and thy
conception; in sorrow
thou shalt bring forth
children; and thy
desire shall be to thy
husband, and he
shall rule over thee.

Also, notice that Eve
blamed the serpent for
causing her to sin when
God caught her in her
sin. Just like we
humans to want to
divert attention from
us to blame someone
else for our sin! I know
I have been guilty of
that, especially when
I was a kid.

Genesis 3:13
And the LORD God said
unto the woman, What
is this that thou hast
done? And the woman
said, The serpent
beguiled me, and I
did eat.

Notice also that Adam
blamed God for giving
him Eve who caused
him to sin. Imagine
blaming God. Yikes! He
must have loved Eve a
lot in order to knowingly
sin against God's one
command to them. Once
again, it is our sinful
human nature that
makes us want to
place blame elsewhere!

Genesis 3:12
And the man [Adam] said,
The woman whom thou
[You God] gavest to be
with me, she gave me
of the tree, and I did
eat.

Why do we have to die?

Another consequence
of Adam and Eve's
sins is that they
brought Death into
the world.

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin
is death; but the gift
of God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ
our Lord.

That means that every
person who has ever
lived since Adam would
have to suffer with
illnesses, diseases,
disabilities, birth defects,
mental disorders, pain,
dementia, or other
ailments as their bodies
age and eventually die.

Romans 5:12
Wherefore, as by one
man [Adam] sin
entered into the world,
and death by sin; and
so death passed upon
all men, for that all
have sinned:

Sometimes people suffer
and die from natural
disasters because this
earth has also been
corrupted ever since
sin and death were
introduced into the
world by Adam and Eve.

Romans 8:22
For we know that the
whole creation
groaneth and
travaileth in pain
together until now.

Those disasters will stop
happening when God
creates a new heavens
and a new earth for all
of eternity. Right now
creation is groaning
(meaning it’s suffering),
the consequences
(the curse) of sin.

2 Peter 3:13
Nevertheless we,
according to his
promise, look for
new heavens and
a new earth,
wherein dwelleth
righteousness.

Sin not only brought death
into the world to people
and animals; but it
brought decay and
ruin to plants, trees,
and all growing things,
which can be destroyed
by diseases, bugs,
mold, rot, erosion,
flooding, etc.

Romans 8:22
For we know that the
whole creation groaneth
and travaileth in pain
together until now.

But the good news is
that God comforts us
in all our troubles. And
although suffering is
not something we
enjoy; it does teach
us how to comfort
others and empathize
with them in their
suffering, just as God
has comforted us.

2 Corinthians
1:3 Blessed be God,
even the Father of our
Lord Jesus Christ, the
Father of mercies,
and the God of all
comfort;

1:4 Who comforteth us
in all our tribulation,
that we may be able
to comfort them
which are in any
trouble, by the
comfort wherewith
we ourselves are
comforted of God.

Sometimes bad things
happen because God
is allowing that event to
bring about a
consequence of
something that is even
greater that will be good.
We may not understand
it now; but that’s because
God’s thoughts and
ways are higher than
ours. Perhaps in heaven
we will see the big
picture and know what
was the purpose for
that suffering.

An example of God
allowing suffering that
would bring about the
saving of many lives
is in the Book of
Genesis in the life of
Joseph (son of Jacob)
who was sold by his
jealous brothers to
merchants who then
sold him into slavery
in Egypt (Genesis 37:28).
It looked bad for Joseph,
but wait until you see
what happens.

During his time in slavery,
Joseph did his job well
and was made overseer
by his boss, Potiphar,
who was an officer to
Pharoah, the ruler in
Egypt
(Genesis 39:2-39:6).

Then Joseph was falsely
accused by Pharaoh's
wife of attacking her
because he refused to
have an affair with her,
and he was put into
prison for several years
(Genesis 39:7-39:20).

During that time in
prison, Joseph again
did his job well and the
prison overseer put
him in charge of all
the prisoners
(Genesis 39:21-39:22).

What an example
Joseph was for all of us!
Even in these terrible
circumstances (being
torn from his family,
being sold into slavery,
being pressured by
Pharoah's wife to
have an affair, being
thrown into prison when
he was innocent),
Joseph still lived as
God would have him
live, never compromising;
and God blessed him
for it (Genesis 39:23).

The Bible never mentions
that Joseph complained
about his circumstances
or about those who put
him in prison when he
had done nothing wrong.
He just did his job well
wherever he was
(bringing honor to the
God he worshiped and
served), and he obeyed
God in how he treated
other people.

Genesis 39:23
The keeper of the prison
looked not to any thing
that was under his hand;
because the LORD
was with him, and
that which he did, the
LORD made it to
prosper.

Eventually Joseph would
have the opportunity to
interpret a troubling
dream Pharaoh had
because God gave him
the interpretation! It
was a prophecy of a
future famine that would
come to all of Egypt and
the world. God also gave
Joseph the plan of what
they could do so they
could survive the famine.
Because Joseph was
close to God, Pharaoh
made Joseph second
only to him, and placed
him in charge of putting
into action the plan to
save Egypt from
starvation during the
famine
(Genesis 41:37-41:44).

Then Joseph's brothers
(who had sold him into
slavery) came from
Canaan to Egypt
because they also
were feeling the effects
of the famine, and were
having difficulty feeding
their families. Joseph
sold his brothers grain
for their families; but
his brothers didn't
recognize him
because it had been
so many years since
they had seen each
other
(Genesis 42:1-42:6).

Long story short, in the
end of the story Joseph
forgives his brothers
of their evil done to
him when they sold
him into slavery
because God used all
those years of Joseph's
slavery and imprisonment
for the good of Joseph,
his family, the Egyptian
people, and people
from other countries by
saving them all from
starvation during the
famine! Joseph forgave
his brothers because
He knew God meant it
all for good! Here is
what he said to them...

Genesis 50:20
But as for you, ye
thought evil against me;
but God meant it unto
good, to bring to pass,
as it is this day, to
save much people alive.

Get that? Even though
Joseph's brothers meant
him harm, in the long
term God made good
come from that evil act
and from Joseph's
suffering - thousands
of people were saved
from the famine, and
Joseph's life of
obedience to God has
been an inspiration to
believers everywhere
for thousands of years!

Also, God's ways are
not something we can
always understand
because, after all, He's
God and we're not!
Listen to what God says
about us understanding
what He is doing 'behind
the scenes' of things
we can't understand
(like suffering and death):

Isaiah
55:8 For my thoughts
are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways
my ways, saith the LORD.

55:9 For as the
heavens are higher
than the earth, so are
my ways higher than
your ways, and my
thoughts than your
thoughts.

God also tells us in His
Word that our present
pain is "but for a
moment" in comparison
to the pain-free and
death-free existence
we will have in heaven
for all of eternity!

Now, your pain may go
on for years, but God
is not belittling the pain
you are suffering. But
he means (in the verse
below) that the time
spent in pain here on
earth is like a moment
in light of the pain-free
existence you will have
when you get to heaven -
and for all of eternity!

2 Corinthians 4:17
For our light affliction,
which is but for a moment,
worketh for us a far
more exceeding and
eternal weight of glory;

Please don't turn away.
Please read further for
an explanation...

Jesus Christ understands
your pain because he
was tortured (for our sins)
so much so that his face
and body was marred
more than any man ever
was! Isaiah prophesied
of what would happen
to Jesus Christ, the
Saviour of the world
for us!

Isaiah 52:14
As many were astonied
[astonished] at thee;
his visage [face] was so
marred more than any
man, and his form [his
body] more than the
sons of men:

Hebrews 10:10
By the which will we are
sanctified through the
offering of the body
of Jesus Christ
once for all.

Hebrews 9:12
Neither by the blood of
goats and calves, but
by his own blood he
entered in once into
the holy place,
having obtained
eternal redemption
for us.

When we get to heaven,
God says that He will
wipe away all our tears,
and there will be no more
death, sorrow, crying,
nor pain anymore! Thank
you God, for Your Word
that tells us what we
have to look forward to
in heaven!

Revelation 21:4
And God shall wipe
away all tears from
their eyes; and there
shall be no more
death, neither sorrow,
nor crying, neither
shall there be any
more pain: for the
former things are
passed away.

We don't have all the
answers as to why we
suffer now; but in
heaven we shall see
Jesus Christ face-to-face,
and then we shall 'know
even as also I am
known'. It sounds like
we will get answers
when we get to heaven.
What do you think?

1 Corinthians 13:12
For now we see through
a glass, darkly; but then
face to face: now I know
in part; but then shall I
know even as also I
am known.

And if you do not yet
know Jesus Christ as
your Saviour, here is
how to be saved from
your sins and be
assured that you will
get to heaven when
you die! LINK HERE
