Did Mary Have Other Children After Jesus?

In the beginning of his
ministry, Jesus Christ,
his mother, his
half-brothers, and his
disciples all went to
Capernaum for a few
days before the
Passover began in
Jerusalem. Keep
reading for a really
fascinating Bible
study about Jesus
Christ's half-brothers
and half-sisters.
God's Holy Word,
the King James Bible,
gives us the proof
that this is the truth!

John 2:12
After this he
[Jesus Christ] went
down to Capernaum,
he, and his mother,
and his brethren
[half-brothers], and
his disciples: and
they continued there
not many days.

In the above verse it
shows that Jesus Christ's
brethren (his half-brothers)
AND his disciples (his
followers) went with
him. The "brethren"
and the "disciples" in
this verse are two
distinct groups of
people.

The Catholic church
says that the "brethren"
in this verse is speaking
of "spiritual brothers",
not Jesus Christ's
actual half-brothers
because they want to
perpetuate the lie
that Mary was a
perpetual virgin and
had no other children
after she had Jesus.
According to God's
Holy Word, the King
James Bible, Mary
was not a perpetual
virgin.

In Matthew 1:25 below
it shows us that Joseph,
Mary's husband,
abstained from having
a marital relationship
with Mary only until
Jesus Christ was
born.

Joseph waited to
consummate his
marriage so that no
one could say that
Joseph (a sinful
human being) was
the father of Jesus
Christ, the
Messiah/Saviour of
the world! If Joseph
had been Jesus
Christ's father, then
Jesus would have
been born a sinful
human being like
the rest of us, and
He could not be the
Sinless Son of God
who came to save
us from our sins!
Satan would love
it if we would
believe that lie!

But Jesus Christ was
born by God's
supernatural power
which implanted
Jesus Christ as a
baby inside of
Mary's womb by
means of God's
Holy Spirit, which
means that Jesus
Christ is the Holy
Son of God!

Mary was just the
instrument God
used to bring his
perfect Son, Jesus
Christ, to earth as a
baby to grow up
around us so that
we could get to
know what God is
like, and to bring us
to salvation through
God's grace through
faith in His Sinless
Son's death for our
sins and his
resurrection from
the dead!

Matthew
1:23 Behold, a virgin shall
be with child, and shall
bring forth a son, and they
shall call his name
Emmanuel, which being
interpreted is, God with
us.

1:24 Then Joseph being
raised from sleep did as
the angel of the Lord
had bidden him, and
took unto him his wife

1:25 And knew her
[Mary] not till [until]
she had brought forth
her firstborn son: and
he called his name
JESUS.

In the Bible verses
shown below (and
repeated in Mark 3:31
and 6:3, and in Luke
8:20), it tells of the
time when Jesus
Christ's mother and
half-brothers and
half-sisters came to
where He was
preaching, and
desired to speak with
Him. These verses
name Jesus Christ's
four half-brothers.
It does not tell us
the names of Jesus
Christ's half-sisters',
but it does say "sisters"
(plural), so we know
that Jesus had at
least two half-sisters.

Matthew 12:46
While he [Jesus Christ] yet
talked to the people,
behold, his mother and
his brethren
[half-brothers] stood
without, desiring to
speak with him.

Matthew
13:55 Is not this the
carpenter's son? is not
his mother called Mary?
and his brethren
[half-brothers],
James, and Joses,
and Simon, and Judas?

13:56  And his sisters,
are they not all with us?
Whence then hath this
man all these things?

Jesus Christ's
half-brothers did not
believe he was the
Saviour of the world
until after his
resurrection, so
the term "brethren"
in this next verse
could not mean
"spiritual brothers"
as the Catholic
church teaches
because at the time
these men could not
possibly be
"spiritual brothers"
because they did not
even believe that
Jesus Christ was the
Saviour!

John 7:5
For neither did his
brethren believe in him.

The Bible does not tell us
if all of Jesus' half-brothers
eventually accepted him
as their Messiah /
Saviour or not.

Acts 1:14
These all continued with
one accord in prayer
and supplication, with
the women, and Mary
the mother of Jesus,
and with his brethren.

Paul talks about seeing
Jesus' Christ's
half-brother, James,
who wrote the Bible
Book of the same name.

Galatians
1:18  Then after three
years I went up to
Jerusalem to see Peter,
and abode with him
fifteen days.

1:19  But other of the
apostles saw I none,
save James the Lord's
[half] brother.

Jude, brother of James
and half-brother of
Jesus Christ, wrote
the book of Jude.

Jude 1:1
Jude, the servant of
Jesus Christ, and
brother of James, to
them that are sanctified
by God the Father,
and preserved in
Jesus Christ, and called:

These next four verses
speak of Mary's children,
and they all mention her
sons James and Joses.
Mark 15:40 also
mentions those same
two sons, plus a
daughter named
Salome. Since all of
these verses point to
Jesus Christ's mother
and two of his
half-brothers, it
seems that Salome
could be the name
of one of Jesus Christ's
half-sisters!

Matthew 13:55
Is not this the carpenter's
[step] son? is not his
mother called Mary?
and his brethren,
James, and Joses,
and Simon, and Judas?

Matthew 27:56
Among which was
Mary Magdalene,
and Mary [Jesus
Christ's mother]
the mother of
James and Joses,
and the mother of
Zebedee's children.

Mark 6:3
Is not this the
carpenter, the son
of Mary, the [half]
brother of James,
and Joses, and of
Juda, and Simon?
and are not his
[half] sisters
here with us? And
they were offended
at him.

Mark 15:40

There were also
women looking on
afar off: among whom
was Mary Magdalene,
and Mary the mother
of James the less
and of Joses, and
Salome;

John 8:32 (Jesus said:)
And ye shall know
the truth, and the truth
shall make you free.

And if you want to
know how God says
you can know you
will go to heaven
when you die, here
is how.

How can I be saved
from my sins and know
that I will go to heaven
when I die? God's Holy
Word, the King James
Bible, tells us how:

Agree with God in
heaven that you are
sinner and need
Saviour. GOD SAYS
WE ARE ALL
SINNERS. But keep
reading because
there is Good News
for you:

Romans 3:23
For all have sinned,
and come short of the
glory of God;

Be willing to turn from
your sin (repent).

Acts 17:30
And the times of this
ignorance God winked
at; but now commandeth
all men every where to
repent:

Believe that Jesus
Christ, the Sinless Son
of God, shed his blood
on the cross to pay
for your sins and
mine; and that three
days later He rose
from the dead.

Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess
with thy mouth the Lord
Jesus, and shalt believe
in thine heart that God
hath raised him from
the dead, thou shalt
be saved.

Repent of trusting in
anything or anyone
other than Jesus
Christ (i.e. baptism,
good works, idols,
false gods, $/tithes
man-made church
rules or traditions,
or religious
ceremonies) to
save you.

Titus 3:5
Not by works of
righteousness which we
have done, but according
to his mercy he saved us,
by the washing of
regeneration, and
renewing of the Holy
Ghost;

Jesus said that we do
not get to heaven by our
good works (stuff we
have done). See verses
7:22 and 7:23 below!

Matthew
7:21 Not every one that
saith unto me, Lord,
Lord, shall enter into
the kingdom of heaven;
but he that doeth the
will of my Father which
is in heaven.

7:22 Many will say to
me in that day, Lord,
Lord, have we not
prophesied in thy
name? and in thy
name have cast
out devils? and in
thy name done
many wonderful
works?

7:23 And then will I
profess unto them,
I never knew you:
depart from me, ye
that work iniquity.

Accept God's Free
Gift of eternal life
through his Sinless
Son, the Lord Jesus
Christ. It is a free gift
to you, but it cost Jesus
Christ his life! You do
not have to work to
earn a Gift - It is free!

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is
death; but the gift of
God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ
our Lord.

Ask Jesus Christ to be
your personal Saviour
and Lord of your life.

Romans 10:13
For whosoever shall
call upon the name
of the Lord shall be
saved.

So, if you did that and
sincerely meant it,
then you are now a
Christian! Welcome
to the family.

Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess
with thy mouth the Lord
Jesus, and shalt believe
in thine heart that God
hath raised him from
the dead, thou shalt
be saved.

And when you die, you
will go straight to heaven
to be with Jesus Christ
forever and ever! The
following Bible verse
is one of my favorites.
It gave me comfort when
I went through double
breast cancer surgery
for I knew that if I died
on the operating table
I would immediately be
in heaven with Jesus!
Knowing that is why I
no longer fear what
comes after death.
What freedom there is
in knowing that.

2 Corinthians 5:8
We are confident, I say,
and willing rather to be
absent from the body,
and to be present with
the Lord.

One note to all dear
Catholics: The Catholic
church says that it is
wrong to believe that
you can know you are
saved before you die.
Please think about
this: God is a God of
love. After all he sent
his Son to die for your
sins so you could be
with him in heaven for
eternity! That is love!
Why would a God of love
want you to worry all of
your life whether you will
go to heaven or hell when
you die? God in heaven
wants us to have peace
and joy in this life as we
live for him and draw
others to him as their
Saviour. Only a cruel
God would want us
worried and stressed
about what comes after
death. But GOD LOVES
YOU and wants you to
have peace knowing that
you are saved now and
can know now that you
are going to heaven when
you die! Please trust your
loving heavenly Father's
Holy Word (the King James
Bible) when God tells you
that you will be with Him
after death if you trusted
Jesus Christ as your
Saviour!

And now that you have
become a Christian, it
is important to learn how
to live a life that glorifies
God in heaven who gave
you the Gift of salvation.
